Hi Emily - looking forward to seeing some replies to your question. I'm on day two of Sertraline and am thinking the same! the leaflet inside the packet of tablets gave me a bit of a scare when I read it...Can I ask what time of day you are taking it? I'm taking it at midday and wondering what the best time is?

Hi emily63239,  I am on my 4th day of taking sertraline and like you I was reluctant to start taking them but so far I've not had any side effects but I also don't feel any different so I'm not sure they are even working with me or they haven't got in to my system yet. Hope you don't get any side effects and good luck with the future.   Rag

Hi I have been on 150mg sertraline for about a year and a half now. It takes about 5 6 week s before you feel the benefits. Also I take mine in the morning. The sickness dizziness fuzzy head jelly arm's leg's is all normal it will wear off just hang in.

Hi Emily, I'm on day 3 of Setraline after being on Citropram for 2 months, and last night I got a really bad headache to the point I had to go to bed. I've woken up with it today and so I'm continuing to take Nurofen plus to try and shift it (it's not!) have you or anyone else on this post had this? I think I'll wait til bedtime today to take my Setraline, I've been taking it at midday. Maybe that will help...Really really want to stick it out on this tablet as it seems like people do really well on it, but not sure I can handle headaches that last this long. It's the w'end so I can get away with it for the moment and stay in.

Hi sorry 2 say head ache is one most common side effect going and sickness just hang in there.

Thanks so much for getting back to me on this - I really appreciate it! Yes - I didn't think it was a coincidence that the headache started on the 2nd day of taking Setraline. My only concern is that I start a new job next week (Wed) so I'm hoping they may have died down by then?! do you think if I take tablet tonight instead of at midday that it might help? thanks.

Hi I would and this is only my experience your better off staying on it in the morning. 99% of people get nasty side effects for up to 4 sometime 6 weeks everyone is different but head ache stomach problems its the main nerve is in our stomach s . This id why we think we need the toilet lol all normal. As fo working that you will just have to wait and see how you feel. Its all about time..

Hi, I'm on my 5 th day of 50 mg and have to say that for the first 3 days I felt really funny, dizzy, no appetite, massive nausea, huge yawns, dry mouth, funny dreams and heavy headaches. Every day seems to be better, less side effects and feeling a little change already. Woke up with a bright head and felt like my eyes are wide open. Good luck everyone. I don't know how about you but in looking forward to the changes.

Thanks for your update Emily - sorry to hear you've experienced so many side effects. Great to hear it's got better now for you though smile yes I'm going to take my tablet tonight and try it over the w'end at this time, hopefully it works better as the headaches are dreadful. Nurofen Plus doesn't even shift it slightly! Good luck.

Hi Julie, I don't remember having any side effects. That being said...I took it in the morning for yrs. and was always very tired. I heard somewhere that if you took it at night it helped, what a difference that made. The only side effects I've had were when I weened off( with my Doctors help).

hi kim thank you for replying, i will try taking it at night does it help you sleep x

Hi Julie, I think it helped me but some on here say they had trouble sleeping. Every one is different and reacts in a different way. Good luck and I hope you  do well, I'll be checking back on here if you need to talk. Without this site I couldn't of got through the withdrawals of getting off. Don't let that scare you, You have to ween off very slowly, something my Doctor didn't do for me. Hope it works for you like it did me,b

Hi there, I messaged earlier on in the week as I started Setraline on Thursday, however I've had to stop today due to having one long migraine since I started..I'm very disappointed and was prepared for side effects but I literally had to stay in bed with the migraine the whole time. Dreadful. So I guess I'm going to have to try something different now. I hope you all continue to do well with it.

Hi, that's to bad about your headache, please don't give up there are so many different drugs out there that can help you. Good luck and I hope you find one. Maybe talk to your Doctor and see if there is something you could take with it to stop the headache.

      Hallo Ab575

I just want to say I had headaches & migraines for 5 weeks (plus I put on over a stone in weight, but that's not relevent here, but I just hated that so much!), but with Citalopram.  I stopped taking them for two weeks then started on Sertraline 4 days ago. with no side effects so far.  Perhaps the opposite will work for you.

      Hi again Ab575

Please ignore my last message as I've just seen your earlier post where you say you were previously on Citalopram.
