Hi there Emily  Hi everyone  am new to this site as felt I needed a bit of moral support Have been on Sertraline for 6 weeks now  first 3 weeks were 50mg with hardly any side effects  even sleeping better decided to take at night just in case. Went for review with doctor who upped my dose to 100mg  unfortunately thats when the terrible diarrhea kicked in  very frequent and alarming   started to get anxious about this. Went back to docs who lowered it again to 50mg and have been on the lower dose now for 5 days  some slight improvement (i.e only goingt 2-3 times a day instead of a dozen) Can anyone tell me if the diarrhea will stop     Emily I hope everything goes well for you  it does seem the benefits outweigh the downs  good luck

Hi Kathy. Sorry to butt in but how are you doing? Doc gave me mirtazapine to try, just took one and never again. 24 hrs of my life gone so I went back yesterday.

He has given me sertraline 50g.

I took one last night 8,30pm. Slept well, got up at 6,30 to make Pack lunches, felt fine and them the worse case of diarrhoea. I went green, then grey and sweating.

I Haven't been again today but was wondering if you still get these side

      effects

Hi sjam  Well have been on sertraline for nearly 9 weeks and did suffer quite badly with diarrhea  went back to docs who took stool sample and put me down to 25mg   sample came back normal. I have to say since being on 25mg the diarrhea has really improved to just a couple of times a day. Feel its getting back to normal  although still very 'loose' i do feel so much better in myself as the tabs have kicked in. I was all for packing it in but the people on this site are so supportive and their advise so helpful  i decided to persevere and i am glad i did   so stick with it it may take the stuffing out of you at first  but this is one of the side effects and it will get better  good luck  hope everything goes ok for you

THANKS. I have ibs so I'm hoping it won't last long. Don't want to become best friends with the loo sad

my doc said 50mg was the lowest dose??

might give it a few days, if I still have the diarrhoea I might try just breaking  one in half??

since taking one at midday I have noticed I'm jaw clenching but I can put up with that.

      thanks again for replying.

      hang in there.

      love sjam xx

Hi everyone, im so glad iv found this site and thread! Iv searched alot but everything is old posts so its nice to read recent comments. Im on day 3 of setraline 50mg, I experienced nausea on day 1 along with teeth grinding and dry mouth. Day 2 & 3 just the teeth grinding and dry mouth. Im not really feeling any benefit just yet, I have been a lot calmer but that may be a coincidence. I take mine around 9am every morning,  I have no trouble sleeping except from my 14 week old son waking up to be fed! Along with my son I also have a 3 year old daughter so they tire me out! Hows everyone feeling now? smile
