Hi all. Been blurred in one eye intermittently. Just wondering if I need to have it removed now or later on.

It sounds like maybe you could give it more time.  I suppose it depends on how much it interferes with your daily life.

I'm also in Ireland. My 59 year old sister had her two cataracts removed last month on her health insurance. The surgeon told her she waited too long to have it done and her cataracts were dense. Apparently this makes it more difficult to measure the correct IOL power and so she will need glasses for driving and a pair of very low power reading glasses for reading fine print.

On the other hand my neighbour had the surgery done when the cataracts were considered to be at an early stage and she sees everything without glasses. She didn't wear glasses until her cataracts began to grow.

My sister didn't wear glasses until about 10 years ago. We now realise that was probably the beginning of her cataracts and her glasses got stronger as the years went by.

Anyway I replied to you because I wanted to warn you about waiting too long.
