Hi guys, I have a thread on vertigo but will give  you a brief sumary. I have been having really bad headaches and dizziness in the past few months. I have been on beta blockers and nasal spray for migraines which aint worked. anyway, I have been prescribed Amitriptyline 10mg to be taken one before bed. People have said they are addictive and you will become dependant on them and your not depressed.

So my question is, shall I take them or not?

Thanks

Amitryptiline is not likely to become addictive at any dosage and a 10mg will have little effect on your headache. A couple of paracetamol should do the trick!

That is true! Paracetamol does not work, tried that and several other medication.

I discern the medical conditions experienced by our friend might well relate to the interaction of mind and body. I am rather surprised that his GP is prescribing so many different medications rather than listening and discussing his many symptoms in depth. Obviously the usual ten minutes granted to patients under NHS rules do not allow for this relationship between doctor and patient.
