Jobs after a hip replacement

Good morning everyone , I was just wondering where are you working after a total hip replacement ? Does the job includes heavy lifting ? Lots of bending etc ?
I'm looking for a job all the time and I'm still confused about what kind of job I should / shouldn't be doing .. after my story about last job when everyone told me I was doing way too physical job .
Thank you everyone

It really depends - I have seen posts from members who went back to bartending (standing and lifting), being a cassier in a supermarket ( sitting, lifting, twisting), mail carrier, construction etc ...
Do you still have your job and if so, how do you feel about it - how about your supervisors - maybe you can have a less physically demanding routine ?
what would you really like to do, sweetheart - this might be a turning point in your life ...
when is your hip replacement surgery scheduled for?
big warm hug

Hi angelika,
I was a year gone 17th February this year. I went back to work at 13 weeks. Did phased return for a couple of weeks. I work in a supermarket, heavy lifting, climing steps all the time etc. I managed but you have to listen to your body, don't overdo anything, you don't want to pop a hip. I'm not allowed to squat so I get on my knees for the lower shelves but everything has worked out. I did feel the hip pulling a few times so stopped doing those jobs until I was stronger. (lifting pallets) I didn't pull heavy pallets either at first and still don't now, if I feel it pulling. The main thing as I have said, is listento your body and you will be fine and don't rush, it can take a year or two for things to heal up properly.

Hi, I went back to work for a few meetings from about 7 weeks, and then I went back properly at 10 weeks. I only work 3 days a week, but it's quite physical at times, I teach 4 and 5 year olds. I've tried to take it gradually and not do things that have made my hip ache.(Like skipping around the hall, sitting on tiny chairs etc.) I wish you all the best with what you decide to do.

I had my operation 3 years ago,
I will keep you updated on how I'm getting on but you have to be patient as it's just my first day tomorrow :-)
Did you find it really difficut to work as personal shopper with the bad hip ?
Good luck with the operation ;-)

Good morning , I'm sorry for late reply
I have done 2 shifts so far and luckily I didn't have any pain in my hip :-) of course my legs were sore because it was constant walking as you know , but the hip didn't bother me at all :-)
I really hope it will stay like that
Good luck x
