Randy what on earth? Career? And didn't let THR end mine and it was a toughie!

A comment ," No driving for 6 weeks, well that will give you time to catch up on your house cleaning". 😤

I tried to help while I was there, but all you did was sleep for the first three days after you got home from the hospital. 😷

First day home from hospital and friend offers to take you out for coffee in her car ...Β  4 wheel drive with huge wheels. Need a step ladder to get up.

DID SHE BRING YOU A STEP LADDER ?Β

Now thats really out there. Made me giggle!Β

My friend dropped by a few days after I arrived home from the hospital and wanted to take me to the movies. She said enthusiastically that I could still use my walker and sit inside the theatre.Β

Don't laugh, I had that from THE SURGEON who performed my THR at my 6 week checkup eek.  I really can't tell you on this forum just what we thought of that remark.

Yeap! we have all said it....too! Studies prove swearing is healthy and relieves stress better than those who hold it in.

I'm not one to hold back. I keep it honest especially right after everything wears off after THR surgery!

HERE'S my swear word experience from my first THR many years ago.

While in recovery waking up and no pain meds or IV...., yeap none feeling it all...wide awake, I said the 4 letter word over & over...delirious! The nurse walks by & heard my wispers....nurse said very sternly,  " Well we don't use that word around here", & runs off to get another nurse. She returns with no pain meds. By then I changed the wisper word to focus, focus over & over....,The other nurse listens & says to the first stern nurse, "She's not saying that WORD, she's saying focus, focus! And still was not given any pain meds or IV for surgery pain.

Can I cheat, because my hip replacement was a dream from day one?! But before the surgery, my bugbear, as I was on morphine that barely touched the pain, my hip was crumbling with osteonecrosis, my ankle is broken (!!!), and I was struggling with a lap top bag and the office door- " Hi Beth, how are you feeling today????". I got so annoyed at the question that I started answering it. After that nobody asked!

You can't be that bad you haven't had  a full hip replacement have you? I said "Of course I have" reply " well your walking well then"

You should be doing more then you wouldn't have so much pain,
