Just been diagnised with onset hip arthiritis very emotional

Hi, I've just been diagnosed with onset osteoarthritis in my hip. I'm 38 and feel very emotional. All I've done is cry for the past 2 days. Is it normal to feel like this? No idea where to turn as not knowing what to expect. Can't sleep for thinking about the future (pain isn't even that bad at the minute, just my emotional state) Thanks

Aww you poor thing. I think it's the shock. My 31 year old daughter has been told she has hip dysplasia. She has to have both hips realigned. So to speak. She was and still is totally upset and very depressed. She can't see the surgeon for at least 9-12 months. It is amazing the things that they can do with osteoarthritis now. Hang in there. Try not to get too upset. Is there anyone who you can 'vent' with? I find that helps. Good luck.

It is what it is.  That's all end of sentence.  You are now taking the learning curve.
