It depends on exactly what is wrong with you at certain levels.. Try and be proactive and don't let anybody force you into having surgery. Good luck and I hope you feel better.

I feel for you as pain can change a person. Try and stay positive and maybe try lyrica if your not already on it. It's supposed to help with fibro. Get well and keep us posted.

Strengthen your core, perhaps using yoga as a way to achieve that. Good posture will help.

    Hi,

Sounds like you have a mild-moderate case of stenosis or something other problem with your spine that is restricting your movements.  Did the doctor do any x-rays, CT scans, or MRI's? or he he/she just making a diagnosis based on descriptions of how you feel?  If the doctor has not done any tests, they should do the tests to find out what is causing you to have these restrictions.  Like is it difficult for you to bend or stand, or sit for any length of time? The doctor may or may not prescribe physical therapy but I would be careful getting any of this before you get the tests done.  I was hurt in a car accident, and I went to a chiropractor who was doing all kinds of physical therapy and I kept telling them it hurt, it hurt, it hurt, they finally did an MRI and found out I had a herniated disc and the physical therapy was actually making things worse.  I would ask the doctor to do some tests.  They usually start with an X=ray which would not show everything, and then probably get a ct scan or an MRI.  Good luck.

Oh, you have fibromyalgia? So sorry to hear that? Maybe it's spreading? But it still wouldn't hurt for the doctor to get a CT scan done.  Maybe you have an injury.  Doctor shouldn't just chalk it up to fibromyalgia.  I live in AZ, where do you live?

      Hi sarapainfree,

I have fibromialga on top of alot of other things, that happened to me where it got to the point I was sleeping sitting up, than on top of that I wasn't going to have surgery until a took a tumble down the stairs at my old apartment, I saw stars like the cartoons, so they had to cause I couldn't keep my neck up anymore, they were just going to leave it alone til it got to the point of the pain was to much, I didn't know what was to much cause I was in a lot of pain before the fall, try to keep do little exercises with your neck I know its gonna hurt but don't stop or give up , just basic neck stretches nothing to crazy.

      Take care

      Hope that helps

Feel better or the best you can
