Male 36
Have had problems peeing for about 3 years about 2 years ago went for a urethral cystoscopy and they found a stricture and done a urethrotomy at the same time . I was then left with a catheter for about a week once removed everything was great was peeing with a great force. Lasted around 7 months then the problems was coming back . back to the surgeon which do e some test saying stricture was back and is now longer due the urethrotomy and I would be best to get a urethroplasty. Last week was in for the opp lasted about 6 hours they had to take a graft from my inner check. Now have a catheter in for around the next 3 week till things hell up. Pain is not that bad more pain in the graft site than the man hood balls are like coconut's and walking has taken on a new look but hopefully this will be a long term fix . if I can offer any information that I know to anyone in the same situation please ask me and I will try and help.

As bad as it may sound, I still catheter about once a week. Seems like it keeps it open better. It really doesn’t bother to do it. Not painful. No way in hell I could have inserted anything prior! Surgery and post surgery are a little humbling, but happy with the results.

Hi Pete125,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I had urethroplast two months ago but I find that my erections are completely gone and my scrotom is not sensitive and also the skin below my penis. They have taken the graft from inside of my lip but thats is getting better. My question to you is this normal? did you experience the same thing? I’ll appreciate your reply.

hi Pete125 I see it's been a few years since you had the urethaplasty just wondering how you are doing now I'm 37 and will be having the operation in March looking to see how it has turned out for you I've been having issues peeing since a kid from being a wild child. I am having the surgery in Tucson AZ.. I have scarring about 10 cm long right before my bladder I had a urethra stretching last year and has pretty much failed by now all though I am still peeing better than I was before the surgery thanks for any info on how you are doing now thanks

Just trust in your surgeon 95% of them are profession and know what they are doing. I hope things work out for you. Surgery is usually a painful process but it works out in the end.

Hey @Tomemo, I'm also approaching 30 and have had a stricture all my life. Wondered how your surgery went and how you're doing now?
I had a urethrotemy back in March which gave me my first ever experience of full flow pee which was a holy experience. On the other hand, I was bleeding loads until two weeks after the procedure. After that, the bleeding stopped but so did the free flowing pee too, and then the pain started. So I'm likely headed for a urethroplasty in a few months, hoping that it will be a simple enough operation.
I wonder if there's anything that can be done to improve the chances of success and minimise complications. I've heard that UTIs can cause complications so am planning a diet around that, and I hope to keep up exercise until the surgery...
