It has been just over a year since I would have caught and developed mono and I feel better than ever, feeling fit and healthy just in time for exams! Im still tired but I think its just because I wake up so early every day but I promise yall there is hope

For so long id get so upset because i never felt any better but I got there eventually smile i must say that the sun has helped a lot, i had super bad eczema following mono but the sun has healed all.

So guys this is just a positive recovery story to give a little bit of hope, remember to take care of yourself always, rest up, eat good and dont ever put work or school over your health smile

Thank you for this positive recovery story!....you are an inspiration. Hopefully my older body is able to fight this stealth virus like your has.

I am continuing with self-care and trying to imagine the ray of light at the end of the agony.

I will do thank you Diane! Defo over the worst, I think people often forget about the mental toll it can take on people and for me that was the worst part, onward and upwards smile

      Hi Rhonda,

I am so happy to hear that you have arrived to pre-virus health! You must feel so relieved that you have made it out of the fog...brava!

I am a 48 and have been so discouraged (4 months in) as I see so little progress and am still experiencing new symptoms.....wondering if my age is not on my side even though I was so healthy and fit pre-virus. It helps me to hear that older women are healing. Your story is SO encouraging. Thank you for sharing this state of recovery with us!.....

I am so mystified my this virus. All my blood work comes back normal with the exception of my killer white blood cells which are a bit low....Is that what is preventing a quick healing process? I have so many unanswered question. I will be seeing a functional (naturopathic) doctor tomorrow to get another perspective on this state of mine. However, I realize that I need to settle into this new state of being unwell and somehow believe that I will recover. I love my job and have finally accepted that I can't work sad .....this is a time of uncertainty, that's for sure.

      Thank you again Rhonda,

      Take good care,

      Continue to be well smile

    Hi Po

Thank you for sharing your recovery story, these are the stories that helped me get through the illness in my early days. I am just over ten months into the virus and the past few weeks I have been feeling up to 90% normal again. To me it feels like being released from prison after a ten month sentence, it's so wonderful to be able to go for a walk every day, to cook meals and to socialise again. It's so wonderful to once again have a say over what you want to spend your day doing instead of being at the mercy of your symptoms.

I remember reading recovery stories in the early months of the virus, doubting that I'd ever feel normal again, but the clouds have finally parted and every day I'm feeling better and better.

To anyone reading this who is going through the hellish first few months, this will for sure be you one day too, returning to your normal lives and looking back on mono as just a really horrible memory. The most important thing you can do is to rest and not push through when you don't have to. Wishing you all a speedy recovery.

you're absolutely right KS, im glad to hear that you are beginning to feel like yourself again! I feel like often people completely underestimate how much mono can knock the life out of you, really take things like cooking and walks for granted when we're feeling good enough to do them regularly smile

That is precisely why I shared my recovery, so that like you, people in the early stages of the virus can find hope in others stories!

      Stay well x

    Hey Po,

It is great to hear you are doing much better, your story is one that people can and should definitely take hope and encouragement from! I was the same as you thought things would never get better but thanks to God they did, given time. Praying and hoping for continual recovery and good health Po, and remember hang in there and my experience was that Year 2 was liberating and a walk in the park compared with that first year!

Thinking of you and sending best wishes,

    Craig

Thank you Po sending best wishes and prayers to you too and really hoping and believing that things will continue to get better for you from here - you have been through a tough time with this I know and glad that things are much more settled and improving now, remember just take things slow still as sometimes folk can set themselves back by jumping into a full and stressful life again too soon - building things up gradually is the key!

      Craig
