Just released from hospital due to PE. Still anxious I have a clot.

Like the title says, I went into the hospital on Friday last week due to shortness of breath and sweating, found put I had two clots in my lungs. They went in with a catheter and used thrombolitics to break them up, and after the procedure I was feeling good and breathing better.

Now fast forward to today, I'm getting twinges of what feel like muscle aches in my left arm and in the left lower part of my ribcage, and a feeling of muscle tightness or fullness in my left leg. My anxiety is through the roof again now because I don't think they got the clot, and now I think its travelling through my body. I don't want to go back to the hospital again. Has anyone had this happen to them before?

I am so sorry you have to go through this as this is so traumatic! My daughter had the same when she was 14 and 3 and a half years on she still feels anxious about having another one! All I can say is that you should go back to hospital, please! We were in a similar situation 4 times ans so not regret getting checked out to make sure it was not another one! I hope it all goes well!

Sorry, forgot to mention that my daughter was on rivaroxaban (XARELTO) for 6 months so if you are on blood thinners you would be ok!

Yes, I'm on Eliquis. They had me on heparin in the hospital.

All I can say is that if you feel anxious, it is not a bad idea to get checked out. It will put your mind at ease as this feeling you are having is completely normal. My daughter never had pain when she had her PE, she had pressure on her chest and discomfort and then she started to perspire and passed out. RIVAROXABAN was very good for her but the only issue with it is that there is no antidote as if you start bleeding heavily then it is an issue. Also, something to bear in mind is to find out why you had the PE. Hematologist carried out 22 tests including genetics one and they all came back negative. In our situation was a long haul flight and my daughter dis not hydrate nor moved during the flight. Have you seen a Specialist Hematologist yet?
