just starting taking citalopram

Hi my dr has just prescribed me 10 of citalopram to start off with rising to 20 in the 2nd week for depression and im worried about side affects, just taken the first tablet this morning and i feel lousy is it likely the tablet or me stressing about it thanks

    Hi just an update been taking cit 10mg for 4 days now noticed im a bit more shaky than usual, also my anxiety has increased quite a bit finding it hard to relax and the depression seems to have got worse is this normal in the early stages

      Thats how I felt just bear with it.

      I fell I am beginning to settle down a bit now, however, it is not a miracle cure that will happen overnight.

      Keep going.

      Hi christine thanks for the reasurrance its a slow process but as long as we get better thats the main thing

      Well I really hope we do as we deserve it.

    Hi Damo

    Your symptoms are all normal. I've experienced them all too and at times you will feel as if you will never gets better. It does, I'm on week 8 and the side effects of anxiety and panic have nearly all gone. I feel more in control and able to cope. Stick with it, take care
