Keloid Scar on chest

I had a small mole removed fom my chest, but the stitches split and have left me with a huge keloid scar. I'm so self-conscious of it as it right in the middle of my chest, so I can't wear any low cut tops, or if I do I wear a big necklce to cover it.
I had steroid injections and laser treatment a couple of years ago but if anything, has made it redder and itchier. I am desperate to have surgery to remove it once and for all but have a feeling it's going to be expensive. Any one had good results from surgery??

Sorry to hear about what you are going through. I'm not sure of what kind of compensation you could get if you win your case. You should ask the attorney you are working with. Also ask what his fee will be for taking the case as it almost always will come out of your winnings...should you win your case.
As for pain, yes keloids can be painful and itchy at times. Try not to scratch them as it makes them grow bigger over time. They grow anyway....but the scratching doesn't help. If you read the above exchange between myself, Songox and Christhor...you will see the 2 best options for treatment. One being Cryoshape starts around $1200...the other if SRT-100 which Christhor states starts around $5500.
Check with various dermatologist and plastic surgeons in your area about those 2 forms of treatment as they both have a very low reoccurrence rate.
Best of luck to you.

Recetly Bought dermelastic serum for my sister, who had a major surgery a year ago, leaving her with a scar across her abdomen. this is the main reason, but I also got it for use on dark acne scars. She has only used it a couple of times, and for the larger scar I don't expect any miracles, so I will have to be patient. For the skin, it has slightly dimmed the marks, but very little so far. It is very difficult to tell so early on.
It did have an unexpected effect though, which was that it made some of the acne on her face disappear!

Hi Stephanie, I have read through this thread and came accross your post. It has been 3 months now since you made that post and I am wondering how your sister's scar is doing now with the dermelastic serum. Has there been any improvement and if so is it significant?

I had positive results with Methotrexate in my steroid injections. But reuccurens after about 8-12 months.
My derm is now proposing low dose MTX (2,5-5mg) to lower my collagenactivity.
I live in norway so every visit is expensive.
Im wondering: has anyone discussed this oppurtunity with their derm DOC?
Its medicine used for psoriasis pasients.

Hi there, I also formed a huge keloid on my chest from sneezing a tiny pimple. I did numerous injections and Lazer treatments but it only made my keloid bigger and painful. Even though, the doctor advised me that having it surgically removed is a huge risk as it could grow back and even worse, I had it removed anyways. Of course, the keloid did grow back and mych bigger than before. I continue getting injections every six weeks but nothing helps. It was a waste of my money and I feel very frustrated. I did research on the Internet for different home remedies and tried everything; but nothing works. Finally I read about this Iodine treatment for keliod. I thought I would give it another try since I have nothing to lose. So I ordered the Iodine on line and started applying it directly on my keloid. It was very uncomfortable as I feel very itchy and burning sensation. However, I was determined to take the discomfort. I kept on spllyinh Iodine 3-4 times a day. After a couple of days I noticed the keloid formed scabs and started to peel off a thin layer. I was nervous and excited at the same time. In about three weeks of treatment, I noticed my keloid continued to peel off and shrinking approximately 25%. It became less red and irritated. I'm still using Iodine to treat it. I don't know how long it will take for the keloid to be flat and leveled with my natural skin as my keloid is more than ten years old. However, I feel very happy with the results. I only spent less than $100 for the small botthle of Iodine and the result is very positive. I regret of spending thousands of dollars on injections, lasers, and surgery when it only made it worse. This is my true life experience, I'm only sharing this information because it might have positive impact on people who are suffering from keliod as I am. Good luck everyone! ?

I just had several removed from my chest. I'm sure you know the chance you take in it growing back bigger. Mine were out of control and although it looks like I was in a fight with wolverine, it looks better than the enlarged keloid that were there. Even after the surgery you still have to get injections and hope. The cortisone does make them red and irritate. I went to Michigan Cosmetic Surgery in Southfield Michigan. It was not very expensive as I got a quote from a hospital of 16000 but they did it for under 1500.

Hello, Back In 2014 I decided to remove My Keloid on my own. I got assistance from my younger brother as well. The keloid that I had was on the back of my left ear.I would say it was the size of 3-4 candy skittles rounded in a ball. At the time I was a grocery bagger at a Grocery Store Called Strack and Van Til. Many of my co-workers and customers would ask "whats that on your ear OR "how did that happen to you ear.I gotten so tired of it that I decided to take that chance to remove it on my own.(ALSO my Doctor did Confirm it was a Keloid and that if I got it removed it might come back even Larger!)I took my chances and looked online for Surgical Scissors.I found some for under $7 and ordered them.About a week later my surgical scissors came and it was time to remove my Keloid. My tools were Surgical Scissors,Ice,Gatorade bottle,Stove,SeaSalt which is found in Any Grocery Store and Regular Bandages that you would use on a Typical cut or after getting a shot from the doctor.I was Ready!! Once again My brother helped me with this.We put about 4 tablespoons of sea salt in gatorade bottle put it in microwave until it reached a temperature that I would be able to bare than shook it up. I put ice on my Ear/Keloid until it felt numb.Put the Scissors on the Stove until it turned RED HOT! YES After that my Brother Cut the Keloid off! It fell on the floor (Digusting Yellowish Thick Puss Inside) The Back of my ear did take a little burning from the Hot Scissors but nothing Major, didn't even take a pain pill after this. After The keloid was off I poured the Hot SEA SALT water on the back of my ear,Waited till it Dried (5 minutes) and put the bandage on it! I only used the sticky part of the Bandage Not the Middle pad part.Everything was fine besides me being scared as s**t that it was going to come back even Bigger! The next morning I took the the bandage off and the was a little puss and I used the Hot Water and Sea Salt and Bandage after about 5 minutes.I did that procedure for 2 weeks every morning. After the First week I would let my Ear Breathe from bandages for 30mins-1hr a day .No lump/Bump ever came.2 weeks after cutting the keloid off I stopped using the Sea Salt Water and only Changed the Bandage.I Used Bandages for about 2 more Months and after that I felt my ear no longer needed them.Today is January-31-2018 and my ear is free of Keloids.I Thank God that it never came Back.
