Knee and hip osteoarthritis

I had a partial knee replacement 3 me months ago due to osteoarthritis. Two years ago I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the hip on that same side as I was getting groin and hip pain.
The last month the hip and groin pain has been so much worse I am now getting sharp pain like sciatica in my lower back. It's there constantly. My knee is now feeling worse too and I'm struggling to walk.
I'm.not sure if the knee is making the hip worse or vice versa.
Anybody have any experience of both knee and hip OA?
Really getting me down.

Hi, so sorry to hear of your pain. I’ve had HTO on knee and suffering hip pain too. Both are linked , it’s not easy but you need to keep moving, even just a bit of floating in the swimming pool. Been trying everything, turmeric and ginger latte help for anti inflammatory and also found CBD oil helped my symptoms.had more good days than bad.
Stay positive and make sure physio and doctor helps

Yup... Hip in '09 and knee in '16. Voltaren Gel (RX in the US) is the BEST topical relief...period. Also...

These probably apply to you...did to me even before the ops. We change out gait to avoid pain and throw something out of alignment. See a chiropractor...that could help a lot.
My hip replacement was a breeze compared to the knee. After 10 days of hospital and rehab, I hit the gym and therapy pool 5 hours a day, six days a week. Complete hip recovery in six weeks. The knee was insane pain plus a full year recovery.

My ortho did a hip MRI with contrast and immediately sent me to UPenn in Philly...thought it was bone cancer but never actually said it, hence the referral to a top hospital. Guy at UPenn saw the image and showed me that 30% of my hip was dead (necrotic). Asked me about car accidents, drugs, alcohol, sniffing Sterno...all the things they've seen that could cause the hip damage. All negative for me. He did the replacement in November of '09.
Two weeks later, went back for an alignment check...everything was perfect. Then I asked him when I could get back on my skates. "Skates?" "Yeah...I've been playing hockey for 45 years." LIGHT BULB MOMENT. He said: "Well, THAT explains the hip damage! You probably had about 5,000 hip checks too many!!!". He also told me that I could go back to the game immediately after I got my strength back...however...the hip would last about 3 years instead of 25. Done. Sold all my equipment the next day. No brainer. But it was soooooo hard to give up the game I loved.
Now, there's the hip and the knee...PLUS...two spine fusions and all that hardware!!! My neurosurgeon said that my lumbar spine "was like a junkyard". All that hockey...gotta pay the piper some day. Now I'm the TSA's worst nightmare at the airport!!!!
