Knee problem/Hip Pain

Hi all
I just wondered if anyone’s long term knee issues ha e lead to hip pain?
I’m currently waiting to see consultant (21st June) has my issue since January this year.
Exercising is too painful. I’ve just been diagnosed with anxiety and high bloody pressure and put on propranolol with which I cannot take anti inflammatory with. Also I need to get some weight off to help my knee and reduce my blood pressure but I’m too much pain to do so. I feel like I’m stuck in a vicious circle and it’s really dragging me down.

Hi Joanna,
I've had two TKR''s, most recent in November. Experiencing slight hip pain if I walk too far.
I did exercising in the swimming pool helps with knees and hips.
Take care,
Alan

The hip pain is real. I have had right side thigh pain generating from the knee up to my lower hip and buttocks I never had this paina before and the doctor said it was my back also along with hip pain is shin pain and calf pain never had those either however was told the pains were not associated with my knee. Bottom line they are !!!what they're trying to get out of I don't understand all I want is my surgeon to take responsibility for whatever they did to cause these pains. I think they give you that year timeline for you to heal because there are really more complications then they tell you in the beginning. Don't feel alone there are more people out there major complications that doctors don't want to deal with

I have had both tkr and am now feeling pain in my hips as i have overcompensated in the way i walk over the years. Weight has always been an issue for me and it did feel much better when i lost 25 lbs. Unfortunately due to anixety about other things going on in my life i have put most of it back on. I have been trying to get back on track now that family matters have resolved themselves and i am trying to use my stationary bike and swim and go for even short walks to get me going in the right direction. Knowing what to do doesnt always make it easier but know you are not alone.

I had a PKR at the end of January. I am in more pain now than I was a month after the op. I started getting extreme groin and hip pain which then developed in lower back, skin and calf. I do have the start of OA in hip but the x-ray showed a problem on back. Had an MRI and I have a prolapsed disc at the base of my spine. I'm having an epidural steroid injection next week. I don't think this is causing the hip and groin pain. The back surgeon did say the knee surgeon and him tend to bounce patients back and forth to each other. Hoping the epidural will help but not convinced. Told knee is doing well. But it's more painful and I can't walk as far as o did 2 months ago. I certainly don't have any benefit from the surgery yet. I am worse off now as I have the back and hip pain. It's very frustrating 😟

Very typical...

The discussion also has the link to the post-TKR exercise plan. You start very slowly and build endurance before strength. Takes months... Gotta commit.
I lost 57 pounds in 11 months on a product called P l e x u s slim. Check their website. Helped with my insulin intake, edema, neuropathy and more.
Propranolol is generic Inderal...a stage performer's drug of choice to cure the butterflies before a show. Find a different med that doesn't interfere with NSAIDS...lots of choices out there. Also check out topical Voltaren Gel (RX in the US) which may not have that interaction problem. Very effective.
