Can someone recommend the best soap or cleanser to use for lichen sclerosus.  I am using vagisil but i am not sure if its a bit harsh.

I use Epaderm, but check back the post, various other things are used by girls. x

Thank you lorna, can you get Epaderm from a chemist or on line??

There is a lot of information on what to apply but not much on how to avoid or simply how to wash

Hi Jackie....I get a huge tub on prescription, BUT one can get a very small tub from the chemist, then you can try it to see if it works for you.  I spent a fortune trying every lotion, potion, and ointments before I got the one that suited me,  I even had special creams sent from U.S.A, it a case of trial and error.     Good Luck....LornaLorna

I never use anything other than water.  I was recommended Dermol 500, but that began to cause some irritation.  I may go back to it to see if things have improved, because all this seems to change periodically.  However, water alone is fine.

Dermol 500 has perfume in it, which can cause irritation , I had to stop using it.

don't use anything jackie...this dis ease is all about toxaemia...don't add more chemicals to the array that are already causing our problems...that's my advice following the principle of not putting anything on your skin that you wouldn't put in your mouth..

de-toxing is part of the healing challenge in this and many other conditions, sauna, infra red, and soaking in epsom salts all have great value and help with reversal.

heat locally is also of great benefit and is used (to the whole body too) as an anti cancer treatment to promote the body's own healing...by raising the body temp to achieve therapeutic hyperthermia  to facilitate more efficient enzyme and lymphocyte activity  which will draw away toxins to the  (often over loaded) liver  for excretion. liver flushes such as                       are also helpful to support de-toxification. The mucous membranes generally help with excretion but we have a clog up situation going on. to help with dispersal i apply the hotest spray of hot water that i can stand in the shower on the basis of two priciples :

1/  like treating like... ie heat and redness being met with the subduing force of a strong spray of really hot water...increased in volume and heat strength by degrees ....until the hotest possible spray is focused on the area. I get fab relief from the itch on the odd occasion that an itch re-appears then I do this daily which is no real inconvenience and i find the benefit lasts all day and night and i repeat the next morning...but it could be done twice a day to really get things moving. Try it! Start with a gentle cool spray and increase volume til comfortable and tolerable then increase the heat slowly...you'll find you can then increase the volume further and that the force and the heat really get in there and give the irritation a vigorous going over until it defeated and the area feels calm and settled. The stimulation is very healing and is just whats needed. Blood flow needs to be increased. Those white patches are kind of the equivalent of gangrene to the limb ...withering and death results. Vulva deterioration and atrophy follow the neglected vulva. Got to get blood moving in the area.  Visualisation helps too of the itch being defeated....til the anger subsides due to being overwhelmed by a stronger yet helpful benevolent force...does this make sense?

2/ dispersal whereby some of the toxins will then be able to escape through the delicate membrane...where they have accumulated in anticipation of excretion locally (causing inflammation which in natural health terms is not a bad thing ...unless repressed by allopathic medecine)  due to the increased porousity that heat provides. In nature inflammation is the first stage of the healing process. It is resolved either by a boil which then extrudes to the exterior..IF sufficient heat is either, applied, or, is allowed to accumulate locally through bodily heat raising (so often eroneously suppressed by western medecine) OR white cells and phagocytes convey the accumulations to the liver for de-tox and discharge via the urinary system.

    Hope this helps!

    love marey x

thank you Marey that was really informative and very helpful,  so is de-toxing  good for our delicate area shall i say and our bodies generally, either through diet supplements or epsom salts?

WELCOME JACKIE ITS A PLEASURE TO (ooops sorry shouting!!) be able to assist. Helps me to to keep considering and reviewing strategy.

Both are beneficial its a multi stranded programme. In fact I've been following a friend who cured herself of LS and she's written a book which I'm eagerly awaiting and will pass on details about as soon as I get them myself.  In addition to de-toxing, supplementation and an appropriate diet the bathing and local hot sprays all activate the healing response.

I've got to get out and get some epsom salts myself...must check out a source ...maybe on-line or perhaps from a local health food store. Are you in the UK?

Are you still anxious to put something on your delicate area?

Not really anxious i am willing to use anything that helps, just dont want to make anything worse. Yes i am in the uk and you ladies on this site have helped me so much.  I have picked up all sorts of things i would never have known to try.

yes de-toxing is good for both the local area and the whole body...with support for the liver so its not overwhelmed.

pro-biotics are also vital to restore gut flora and fauna...you can get quite a strong reaction as 'die off' takes place and the bad bacteria try to fight back as they die!

Hi Marey,  I am glad you said about the strong reaction, I have for the past few days been driven mad with an itch on my neck, chin and forehead, BUT the change in the undercarriage  is amazing, haven't had to use Dermovate for over a week, and it's looking lovely and pink instead of fiery  red . Today staying of fruit and veg to see if itch will die down. Take Care all. L

you're ok with veg..unless you're doing the low carb start? Which protocol are you following?

It may help to detail everything you've done and eaten so you can keep track of what is working since you move through levels. Just to follow can you list your steps so far.

Is this an initial change from steroids? I'll look back at your history but can you fill me in xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
