Labs second time around!

I had labs in 2008 that lasted 2 years. I think its back again...suffering 8 weeks already. My symptoms are: dizziness like i'm drunk, pressure and plugging in left ear, headaches, pressure at the back of my head, anxiety and generally feel unwell. Anyone have ear pressure and pain as i didnt have this symptom the first time around??? Your responses would be appreciated.

I had a lot of pressure in both ears. I was told it was an inner ear problem with a sinus infection.
I used warm compacts on my ears for 10 to 15 minutes. Surprisingly it did help with the pain and pressure.

Took the antibiotic and medication for nausea. I am starting to feel like myself again not 100% but can drive again.

Have you been to a dr to rule out ear infection? or sinus infection?

ive been diagnosed has having Viral Labyrinthitis. . I'm now in my 10 th week of this horrible condition. Symptoms - plugged left ear, pressure pains inside my head, and painful neck. I'm ok, sitting down, but when upright and walking I completely unbalanced. Eyes are blurred and the whole world seems out of of kilter. Windy days and flickering sunlight make it worse.legs feel heavy and the ground seems to be coming up to meet my feet before I'm ready , so always ' out of step ' some days I feel that things are improving, but then I feel worse again. It's so frustrating and disconcerting.
im awaiting an appointment at ENT but that's some 9 weeks away !
When you suffered with this 2 years ago, did you have tests etc. Did you do VRT exercises ? What finally made it go away ? And was it a gradual process or sudden occurrence ?

Thx for your reply. Sorry you are suffering too. I did have extensive testing done including MRI and CT scan as well as all the vestibular testing the neurologist did. I did go for VRT near the end of it all so i'm not sure if that's what finally helped or if it had finally cleared on its own. It was a very gradual process. I am doing VRT again this time at 8 weeks....not going to wait because i am desperate to get better sooner. The exercises make you dizzy and you will feel worse for a while till your brain learns to compensate. I am quite anxious with this condition which tends to make it worse. Are you anxious?

New symtoms..more unbalanced for months at a time, blurred vision. New ENT didn't think it was meniers. Vastibular testing. ENG and caloric test came back normal??? Feeling much better in the last month. Still have to follow up to what is the next step. Anxious for sure as you are always in fear of it coming again. Enrolled in councilling which has been good. Learning how to deal with stress...great tips for relaxation. Also, i get plenty of diwn time after work and try not to fatigue myself bc i find when ian fatigued it brings on the imbalance issues.

No, I don't feel anxious, more annoyed and frustrated with the limitations
it puts on you. I'm just glad that Ilm not vomiting or feel nauseous. That would depress me and bring me down. My GP said the virus would have gone by now, so any issues are as a result of damage done to the vestibular system. So as there's no medication to cure this condition, I'm assuming VRT is the next stage, I.e to ' reprogram ' your brain to accept the change of signals it's now getting from the middle ear/ eyes.

17 months is a long time to be suffering, and to lose your job because of it, is just awful ! It is reassuring to hear different people's experiences, it's good to know one's not alone. I do hope you get some answers soon and start getting better,

Can you work?

Do try vestibular rehab. It takes time for the brain to compensate. Everyone is different. Please know that the exercises make you dizzier initially but stick with it.
