Hi, I have been reading witht interest some of the comments posted by some people regarding vertigo and dizziness.  My story started back in March of this year, I was watching my son play football and whilst driving back home I suddenly became extremely lightheaded felt like I was going to pass and my partner took me to A&E, the symptons have never gone and way have have only got worse, went to the doctor whom said that it was Labyrinthitis upon reading up about this condition it seemed like I had allt he symptons, one of which was anxiety which I have never suffered with before its is now five months on and I still have the dizzeness and lightheaded woozy feeling, the last few days have felt a little clumsy and off balance, I have ringing in my ears and popping some days and headaches I was prescribed diazapan for anxiety and then the doctors put me on citalopram which I only took for 4 weeks this didn't seem to help much so decided to stop taking them I haven't taken any medication for a week now as I wanted to see how I would get on without apart from panadol for heachaches, I finally have a referral to the ENT department which is in a couple of weeks time, I have just about had enough of feeling crap, before all of this was an active 47 year old have two children and recently got married back in June I just want this to go away and want to wake up in the morning feeling normal, I would ilke to add that I don't have any problems sleeping I best when still can anyone else shed any light on things thank you!

So sorry to hear this. I am only 15 and have suffered from a feeling like I'm on a boat and as if I'm going to pass out for about 10months now.It started when I was shopping and suddenly thought I was going to fall over and pass out. I had to go and buy a drink to sit down with and the whole process was frightening. At the time I believed I perhaps had a virus which was causing me to feel dizzy. I was originally told that I had labyrinthitis and was given some medication, which didn't help and possibly worsened my symptoms. After about a month of this horrible feeling and after missing 2 weeks of school, i begun to feel better. A few weeks later I caught a cold which is when ear pressure built up and my vertigo (so I believe that's what it is) came back. I have had numerous doctors appointments and at each they said that my ears were clear and that it is 'just one of those things'. I had to manage for many months and it soon became a normal part of my life. I then had another doctors appointment a couple months back where I was told it was probably a result of my long term anxiety and that it would pass but after crying I was referred to ENT. I finally had this appointment last week where they carried out many tests, and they said they had no concern what so ever. I was told that it is visual processing vertigo where the messages from my eyes to brain are slow, confusing me and making me believe I am moving differently to how I am. They also said that I may be hyperventilating withous realising when I am anxious, causing the lightheadedness .I was discharged. Now a week later I am off school with exams this week because I can't even go to the toilet without a feeling like I'm being pushed down from my head and feeling lightheaded. I keep having these very intense feelings in my head making me frightened but my family can't see it so it is difficult for them to help me. They try to understand but it is so hard to describe. It seems my anxiety could be worsening it but this still doesn't answer why I started to have this in the first place. I just want reassurance that this is nothing to worry about and I want a way of managing this effectively so it doesn't ruin my life. 😔

Hi I too have this dizziness and light headed feeling. Also mitigated if I have a couple of drinks. Did you find out anymore about your condition?
