Sound like there is a connection betwen the sleep problem and fibro.
Had you had any meddications around the same time? Had you ever been prescribed antibiotics ? Hope you don't mind my asking?
Kind regards
Jean

Do you know the name of the abtibiotic? Was it called tetracycline? You need to check this out qith your dr as they keep records of all meds. Then look up the side effects because you may need to avoid this qantibiotic or the group of antibiotics it belongs to in the future to avoid possible reoccurrence or flqre up of the signs qaand symptoms. pleasee google antibiotic toxicity and floxiehope. They are two different entities.

This is copied from webmd in case you haven't read it and some of it is of use.
'Treating fibromyalgia in teenagers and children continued...
Exercise . Exercise is an important part of fibromyalgia treatment. Children with fibromyalgia who stay active tend to have less intense pain and lessdepression. A physiotherapist can show children the best exercises for fibromyalgia and can teach them how to ease into an exercise programme gradually so they don't get injured.Physiotherapy. Physiotherapy and massage can ease some of the muscle soreness that children with fibromyalgia experience. For teens and children who are struggling with fibromyalgia, these treatments can bring help and hope. Getting enough rest and exercise and relieving stress can help control fibromyalgia so that children with the condition can stay symptom-free over the long term.'

I clicked on reply to Charley's discussion and nothing happened so I clicked on reply to Barabara and got the appropriate box up on the screen!
I just wished to add to the responses from Shelly and Barbara. I have to give credit where it is due and it is thanks to Shelly that I learned that
phosphates build up can contribute to fibromyalgia.
Charley if you google fibromyalgia and retention/buildup of phosphates you will read some very interesting facts on why people get muscular aches, pains and spasms.
It is best to read it for yourself then you can see the progression of the build up of phosphates. A good healthy diet with fresh produce is essential as there are a lot of phosphates in ready processed foodstuffs.
I think that this makes for very interesting reading but most of all it puts a positive spin on the condition of fibromyalgia. and gives hope.
Another question for you coming up. Do you usea ,aptop? If so do you sit withh it resting on your lap and/or legs? If you do then STOP.
The pressure from the laptop can cause problems with muscles duee to pressure on the nerves and irritation to your joint s.
If you google Laptops, ergonomics and the prevention of musculo skeletal problems when using computers and or laptops you will get a lot more information and details about postural stress etc.
I used to be an Occupational Health Practitioner and Senior Nurse.
I wrote a theses on care of computer workers and the alleged health hazards of working on a computer.
There are physsical and psychological manifestations and health hazards due to using/working on a computer.
The psychological hazards include insomna, stress, alienation, depersonalisation, depression and anxiety.
Physical hazards include postural stress, musculo skeletal conditions, back pain, aches and pains, swelling of the lower limbs all under postural stress.
Good posture is essential at the work station. there is plenty of information on this . Other things such as straining the neck muscles can cause headaches, back pain and also pains in the lower limbs due to bad posture. Always support your neck and back when reading, watching television or working on a computer and or lap top.
Do not spend long periods of time on a computer etc, keep getting up and walking about if it is only for a few minutes at a time. THe idea being to change your position to avoid postural stess.
Hope this helps. Sorry for long response.
Kindest regards
Jean.

Are you.getting extra time in the exams or special consideration with coursework because of your health problems? It sounds like you should be. The first place to start would be to speak to your school. If they aren't supportive, ask your GP. Or CAMHS. Let us know if this doesn't work - someone on this site is likely to know how to get this help.

I think that you are going to be fine with your GCSE's.
I apologise in advance for the long posting but I feel it is warranted.
As you are aware nowadays for many students coursework is often a fairer way of assessing a students abilities.I ssspeak from experience having gone through five years training to acheive three nursing qualifications one of which was obtained at Uni.
The best advice that I can give you is to take things at a steady pace. That way there is no need to panic because the brain will take in information, store it then will retrieve it when the time comes.
Look at the positives.
Firstly you are a very good communicator . This shows maturity and understanding.
That in itself is a big plus.
The fact that you are able to express yourself clearly and succinctlly speaks volumes about your level of intelligence, confidence, empathy as well as showing that you have insight.
These qualities in themselves will take you far.
Your positivity is showing through even more so now. So keep it up.
Just coming forward to express your feelings and concerns shows you have a positive attitude. This is very important as it will make you even more confident and self assured than you already are. So well done!
Another encouraging thing is that youhave told us that you are taking GCSE's next year and that you are working on your coursework and hoping to get good grades.
That is excellent.
In stating the afore mentioned it tells me that you are a very diligent, conscientious person and student who plans .
You show that you are aambitious, hardworking, and appropriately concerned about your life and your future.
There is nothing untoward or abnormal in what you have written.
Just carry on believing in your very obvious abilities and ambitions and do not let anyone to undermine you or put you down or try to deter you from acheiving your aims and objectives.
When I was at Uni etc fellow studentts would say things like they did not study or had not done any coursework or research.
I found this attiude rather odd until I realised that it was not true.
Of course one's peers will in the main be studying like mad.
It is a fact that most people unless a genius do have to study quite hard in order to absorb information and then to regurgitate it as and when necessary be it in an exam or in coursework.
Obviously studying that little bit harder will pay off and help you to acheive higher marks and a better result.
I assume that your Tutor will be guiding you through this but sometimes they do not have enough time to spare for each student so it can be difficult to get the support at the precise time it is needed.
However I have no doubt in my mind that you are going to be just fine.
Just keep telling yourself that if you do the right things, that is study and research at a steady pace that you will be rewarded with good results and success.
Don't forget that you have a lot going for you.
It is clear from your postings that you are a very intelligent person with star qualities.
That is obviouslly a good start. The rest is just down to some hard work but not too hard so you end up exhausted or illl. That is no good to anybody. Just keep your research and studying going at a steady, relaxed pace. Let things steadily sink in. Remember this Charley. Even the most clever person in the world at one time knew nothing and had to learn!
That is where we all started from . From a point of ignorance. It is all about studying and learning really, retaining sufficient information to get through an exam.
However with coursework you avoid dependency on passing an exam so this takes some of the pressure off.
You will be alright!
Just keep on believing in yourself.
As my son would say to people 'Just chill'.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards
Jean.
some hhard work but not too hard so you drive yourslf too hard and end up ill.
Just do your researc and studying at a steady pace. It nearly always takes longer than expected to complete any task.
That way you will introdduce more control into your life and minimise the amount of pressure. Pressure is something that we cannot always avoid and have to go with the flow. However I sense that you can do this without too much trouble.
In my opinion as a mother and a former student you have demonstrated some very exceptional qualities in your postings. You have shown that you have insight, good communication skills, are confident, are capable of expressing your emotions.
This is all good stuff. In addition you have shown that you are a very intelligent, ambitious person who is determined to succeed. Those are star qualities.
I think things will work out fine for you.
Kind regards
Jean.
vise taking baby steps over this one. You have already identified the problems and
