Anyone had a green light laser TURP operation, I had a cystoscopy on Thursday and was told I need a operation, I got in on Tuesday and was told I have to take it easy for 3 weeks and not driving ? So wanted to find out from anyone who has had it done that can shed some light on it all.

Thanks William,
It’s all happening so fast for me, they did want me in the next day but I was a bit taken back, so agreed to Tuesday, when can’t we drive for 3 weeks ?
Is the pain that bad or something else, they told me I have to stay in for the night and I’ll have a wee bag for 7 days.
I know they say no heavy lifting, but what was you still able to do ?
I’m not one to sit about doing nothing, I’ll go mad 😠

Try a PAE first. Non invasive. That's why it's want u to hurry up so u don't find out about pae. Contact doc Isaacson at UNC.

Do not be afraid to look into Holep...long term results are superior..Studies show less chance of re-operations with Holep..Only good as the Doc behind the laser.
Good luck & God Speed

Are you I the UK as it is now the standard NHS procedure for BPH ?. I was an early patient for it when it was being first being done in Newcastle in 2004 for my 75 gram prostate. I had it Friday afternoon and travelled to Edinburgh by train on the Sunday. On the Monday I went to the races without needing to worry about going to the toilet. No pain, no urgency, no retention and only a slight bit of blood and burning at the start of urination. Life was back to normal. I can't see why they said no driving. No heavy lifting and take a stool softener so you do not need to strain on the toilet. Have sex when you feel like it. I waited about ten days, no retro. A friend only waited three days to make sure everything was working.

Listen to old buzzard. My URO wanted me to go into surgery pretty quickly as well and was recommending some sort of Vapor TURP. I declined the surgery and asked for other alternatives when he mentioned Rezum and Urolift. I also found FLA but I'm Chicago and FLA is only done in a few states, Florida and Texas are two I found. If you can hold off, do so, and do some research about other less invasive surgeries with less side effects.

I've had two laser procedures without side effects and as often explained rapid recovery. UK procedures done in hospitals seem to have better outcomes than ones in America in 'Doctor's Offices'

Just because he is a top rated doctor does not make it right. One of the top rated doctor's did another man on here with another procedure and only told him that it would make it better. This poor guy has not been able to pee on his own for 6 month's the doctor only said. I don't know what happen. I feel for you. You are being rushed by this doctor and you have never research anything else Good lord Ken
