Left side breast pain

I am new to the forum and I am 44 years old. I must say my anxiety has come down 10 fold since reading all of your stories. I am 14 days late and I have had some significant left breast pain. It's been 5 days now. And of course because I am full of anxiety I go to the worst possible scenario! Of course my periods have been weird and all over the place and not consistent, I have an app to keep track of them. My breast pain is at the top of my breast, moves to the left side of my breast and sometime radiates to my arm pit. From other blogs I have read left breast pain is pretty common in perimenopausal women. Are others experiencing this? I just want to start my period so bad so the hormones can be released to give me some relief!

Mine jumps from breast to breast, sometimes it radiates to my upper arm, mostly on the left.

Sometimes a dull thud...mostly a sharp, sudden knife like stab...Fun!!

Been checked out and so far I'm fine..Docc says its hormonal surges and dips

Thanks Katy! This is just nuts! It has just scared me b/c it was only one breast when it normally is both. Back in January both breasts hurt so bad it totally felt like they were drying up from milk, I couldn't go w/out a bra ever! I'm just glad I can finally put a name to what has been going on with me b/c it has been stressful! 😟

hi beth!  yes it’s stressful and i wish id found this darn forum years ago.  i recently in last few mo had the left breast uncomfortableness.  i had NO idea either it is typical and usually in the left side!  i felt tons better reading about others symptoms.  i currently looking back see alot of my anxiety was from not knowing wth was going on.  ringing in ears occasionally started bout yr ago.  sleep issues for a while.  just waking early and often.  crying spells at stupid stuff.  and if it was cry worthy it was horrible.  i have to laugh a little at th complaints on here because its like we are 12 again.  i thought i was only one who felt i was circling the drain haha

Had this for a couple months earlier this year. After 2 clinic appointments and a mammogram, it was diagnosed as fibrocystic breast pain from hormonal fluctuations. Doctor recommended Primrose Oil capsules, but the pain subsided before I even got to take them.

    Dear Beth,

About 3 weeks ago, I got left breast pain so bad, I too had worst thoughts going thru my head, Lisa one the wonderful ladies on this site told me about Castro Oil pack and evening Prim rose, I made my own Castro oil pack after watching You tube videos, and started taking the evening Prim rose caplets.

The pain has gone away but my left arm was sore, doctors told me I got Frozen Shoulder which is normal for women my age.

Finding strenght with all these symptoms is difficult but this group has been a tremendous help?, we are not alone and you are nut going crazy😊

Welcome, Beth!  I had this for several months and it went away but still have some occasional breast tenderness, usually before a period.  The significance of it being on the left side has something to do with the lymph nodes/lymphatic system.  I also track my periods as they are all over the place.  Have you had peri symptoms for very long?  I’m 47 and have had symptoms for about 4 years.  🌸

Hi Liz, I am 44 and I really have just started noticing odd stuff about my body that is relating to peri. I sure got myself all worked up theirs last period time when I only had breast pain on the left side. If I can really think about it I think probably I started peri sysmptoms starting around Dec. I'm going to start journaling my symptoms now so that the next time I get something only in my left breast I'll know its now "normal". I have terrible health anxiety and any pain I can't track the origin from my mind starts spinning! It's a running joke now with my chiropractor! He'll said what did you find out is wrong with you today! I hate being like this! LOL! But this forum has really helped me see I am not a nut!

I totally understand.  Tracking symptoms and periods can be a big help!  These “normal” things don’t seem normal.  🌸

Well I am not sure what constitutes frozen shoulder but it has been acting up. I do go to the chiro regularly anyway. I have found myself going the last two times for my left shoulder and arm. 🤔 So maybe???? I just thought it was from scooping too much mulch! LOL!

I thought it was from carrying my laptop bag on my left shoulder, at times it was heavy with my work but now I thinking it that could have been the start of my issues,😣, I'm going to visit a naturopath this week and hope that I could get some relief from this pain.

hi beth! I'm having left breast pain that radiates to my shoulder. I'm so health anxious as well and I'm worried it could be something serious. I'm currently nursing my 4 month old baby And had a hysterectomy. could it be hormones as well?
