Left side head pressure, tender spot, neck issues

Hello, I am new here but I am a little concerned. I am a healthy 35yr old male however I have been dealing with left side head pressure for the last 5 weeks. I don't get a real bad headache but its mostly just pressure and its pretty much with me 24/7. I have noticed when I lay down or go to the gym with my headphones on it is not as bad but always there, I seem to feel it more when standing but again its always there even when sitting at my desk at work. I will list a few of my symptoms below in a moment but I did want to mention the last 2 years have been rough after going through a tough separation with my fiancée and only seeing my son a couple days a week instead of daily so my stress and anxiety was really bad for a while however I am dealing with that better now so I have a hard time believing this is stress related. I am a very anxious person and do not do well at the doctors, my blood pressure and heart rate go through the roof even just at a check up.

The last few months I have not felt like myself, I have had a bad stomach my whole life but it got worse around November 2015 and I was having chest pains and tightness, long story short I saw my doctor multiple times and was diagnosed with GERD and I also had an EKG and Stress Test Echo on my heart which all came out fine thank god. Now a couple months later I was finally feeling a little better, chest issues and stomach still kind of there but no where near as bad and then randomly get hit with this head pressure one Sunday night after just laying on my couch. I went to the doctor after 2 weeks of the head pressure and he tried 2 weeks of muscle relaxers thinking it was my neck, my neck is super tight especially left side where the head pressure is and he told me to stop going to the chiropractor. I was going to the chiropractor for just a couple months before all this happened because my neck and left shoulder always hurt (I work out in the gym and think part of it is from that, I used to lift very heavy but I don't as much anymore). The funny thing is a week before this head pressure started my chiropractor did his usual neck crack on both sides and I remember it almost hurting, feeling different then normal and sent pain through my head. I honestly wonder if he did something to me and if this is from my neck however almost 6 weeks and still feel the same? Advil doesn't do much, muscle relaxers didn't work. I am doing neck stretches and just bought a hand held massager this past week for my neck and head. My doctor did not think brain tumor at my visit based of my symptoms and said my reflexes were good.  Sorry for the long post but hoping for some help, my doctor is now referring me to a neurologist but I am trying to hard to push it off a little more hoping it gets better, I have enough medical bills and I am trying to tell myself this has to be from my neck or something that will heal eventually. I know brain tumors are pretty rare but of course I am having anxiety over that.

Symptoms:

-left side head pressure 24/7.

-some pressure in left eye and ear but not terrible.

-neck issues, especially left side, recently got a massage and the massage therapist said my upper back and neck were extremely tight. Chiropractor although I haven't been in a few weeks doctors orders said my C-1 or 2 joint cant remember which one was out of place. I have been doing neck stretches and using a tennis ball.

-some lightheadedness and fatigue, nothing crazy and could be stress since I think about this and worry all day.

-just noticed this week I have a tender spot on the bone top left back side of head.

-no weight loss, no fever, appetite ok for the most part, stomach ache some days but no vomiting.

I do get a little bit of facial tingles in the left side of my cheek and especially my chin, it is not constant and comes and goes. This did start a couple months before this and I went to the dentist because I still have 3 of my wisdom teeth. He did say they could come out and my bottom right one was coming in a little crooked and could be causing some pressure. He did I could hold off for a bit and it wasnt an emergency and that could be causing some of my chin numbness and tingles. Also I am constantly popping my ears because they feel a little blocked and my nose feels a little congested but this has been going on for a while and is not something new, maybe allergies

Hopefully some suggestions and feedback will help, I will see neurologist if this doesn't improve but again I am trying to wait just a little longer on that.

    Hey guys

So i read all posts. I have very similiar symptoms....ear pain and fullness, tightness above my ear, pain behind my ear, stiff left neck and shoulder, eye numbness and blurriness, sinus problems, sore ear canal, hyperacusis. All one sided on the left side. I also have 2 knots in the left temporalis which i feel are the problem. I have been suffering for 7 years. I ve seen 4 ents, 3 neurologists, acupucturist, dentist, chiropractorand tried at least 10 medications. Muscle relaxers, anti convuluscents, nerve pain. Blood thinners. Triptans. Anxiety meds(only relief i get). The anxiety it causes is unbearable.

My next step is to see a sinus specialist which is mid oct. I had numerous one sided sinus infections last year....im also waiting on botox approval from my benefit provider.

Im not gonna lie. My life has been agonizing for the past 7 years and im desperate. Sending positive energy to everyone on here. Will try to update soon.

      Hey

Unfortunately i dont have a facebook account. I definitely think we should keep each other updated though....

Because our symptoms cover so many parts of our head, i feel like it may be some sort of circulation issue. Or possibly mass inflammation. I was tested for temporal arteritis though which came out negative

I also do not have Facebook anymore..sorry..but we can still chat here with different symptoms as they arise. Hoping no more symptoms tho. Between my neck, head, eyes, and tinnitis and acid reflux, I will scream if one more thing hits me..

Hi I been having the same problems for the past 6 months started with tingling feeling in my head at first I just pasted it off. But after awhile I started getting pain and numbness on my left side of my head as well . I also get tingling feeling in my face sometimes and a hot feeling. Just last night all off a sudden I got this sharp pain in my left temple got got nauseated and thought I was going to faint. Went to my doctor about 2 weeks ago He more or less told me it was all in my head . I demanded a CT scan I waiting on my call for that but in the meantime he gave me some  for stress.

I have a ridge on my skull around my crown. I have acid reflux and globus. I am a hot mess! Sometimes my head feels like it's firing..can't explain it. Just don't feel right alot of the time..

Trying to learn about my own, weird and worsening symptoms, I found some information regarding Temporal Arteritis. The cause is inflammation and damage to the blood vessels that supply blood to the head.

I do not believe it relates to my symptoms, but reading your post, I thought you might do a search for Temporal Arteritis and see if it is relevent..

Thank you. Is that temporal arthritis? May check it out, but I am finding so many things scare me and seem to make symptoms worse..thanks tho for the info..

Just checking in to see how you all are doing. still tight around my right ear accompanied by tinnitus (only the right ear),- i noticed if i stick an earplug in the right ear real tight it alleviates the problem a bit. hope this helps someone.  Lymph nodes in neck feel a bit stimulated sometimes but the acid reflux has subsided completely after i took protonix - beginning to think that this is most definitely a nerve problem. I was told that nerves dont really show on an mri which would explain why all the imaging i have ever done is always clear yet the same locations in my head are always symptomatic. To my understand there is nothing that can really fix nerve problems except surgery and acupuncture. I will stick with the latter for now.

Wow, I can’t believe I stumbled across this forum. I have been searching and searching for answers or people experiencing similar symptoms. Mine is the right side of my head. I have the spot on the crown of my head that feels tingly/burning (depending on the day), the “tightness” feeling in the right side of neck which extends from behind my right ear down into my upper neck, I get pain behind my right eye and tingly sensations on my right cheek bone, also experienced some sensations in my right arm and chest tightness occasionally. I was just put on Zoloft by my PCP because he thinks anxiety is taking over and may be causing some of these symptoms. Although all of this started about 6 months ago and I did not suffer from anxiety then. I’ve seen two PCPs and neither one of them know what’s going on. All of my blood work has come back normal and so did my MRI in April. I went to a chiro last week and I’ve felt the worst sensations in my head since that visit. I currently have what is comparable to a softball size “bruise” on the back, right side of my head close to behind my ear. It’s very sore to the touch, but I know I haven’t had any trauma to my head to cause this. I also get a sore throat every now and again and it’s usually my right side that is effected. Going to my first neuro appt in two weeks and I’m super anxious about it because I’m tired of living with these symptoms and constant worrying. I’m going to see a therapist tonight for the first time to help with coping with all of this plus I practice yoga daily and meditate. I try to eat as healthy as possible and rarely drink alcohol. This has been so frustrating, but it is nice to know there are other people out there dealing with the same symptoms.

welcome to the club. occipital neuralgia is definitely a possibility imo. not sure how they would really diagnose it seeing as the mri's always come back normal. Does anything alleviate the symptoms at all? Yoga? I am curious to know if that helps at all.

Not sure..hope so..but I also have like a ridge around the crown of my head. Have had it for years but think it may be getting a bit worse..Iv just got so many shmpToms going on it would take too long to lust..Fed up with all these health issues..Pray we get some answers..

Yoga is great for stress relief and my anxiety, but unfortunately the pain/sensations are always there. My anxiety seems to be the worst of my issues right now since the pain is so constant, my mind is always worrying. Wish we all could get some answers and find relief.

I remember when my anxiety was through the roof . Doctors literally labeled me as a hypochondriac lol . You get used to it eventually and the anxiety subsides for the most part . I realized the pain  is just  something I have to live with . For me keeping busy and sleep are my only two escapes.  It's the worst when I'm awake in my room doing nothing lol
