I got this blue leg lifty thing from hospital but i do find it important. As i cannot yet lift my meg myself it means i can get myself into bed without having to wake my mam up like 6 times during the night. Well iv only just been able to start using it this last week but its incredibly important x

Thank you Sarah. I am trying to get the last of my necessities. I need a leg lifter and an ice pack.

Ahh yes then i assume you will have to pay. Such a shame, although cels idea sounded pretty good and if you have a scarf it will cost you nothing 😊

I did consider buying one but then tied a loop in a scarf and hung it by the bed just in case.  I didn't need to use it though.

    Cels x

Hi Erika and welcome to the wonderful world of hippies.

I didn't know about leg lifters but improvised with a pashima when my husband was not around (similar to cels).

It also is very useful to have some loose underwear and sleep pants to lounge in this migth help accomodate swelling and the sore incision (I actually used my husband's flannel sleep pants with a t-shirt).

Good luck with everything. I wish you a skillful surgeon, sympathetic nurses who are not run off their feet and many caring family and friends to support you.

I got one and it was a waste of money. It was too painful for me to use it. So for the first few weeks, I had to have my husband or sister help me get my legs lifted into bed for me.

      Hi Erika

I'm 12 days post op and I'm finding the leg lifter a huge help. Good luck for the 4th May

Erika, my op was last July! I know many people have found them to be helpful. And I was able to use it a few times without too much pain, before I got a 4" thick mattress topper which made my bed higher, and for some reason that made it impossible for me to use the lifter.
