so sorry for those doing exchanges. i would if it were easy. i am n dercorrected by -.75 and .25 astigmatism remaining. I started at -6.50 with .75 astigmatism. so IOL Calculation on me was off. i'm not happy because having only one eye done, i cannot wear glasses due to double vision. so, i'm in contacts on both eyes still. i also sometimes get double vision on brightly lit signs,tv crawl etc. It is disappointing.

what issues are you all having that are pointing you to lens exchange? At first the surgeon tried to tell me it was just dry eye...well it's been 9 weeks and no it isn't. i am not doing the other eye until i have no choice...afraid of what outcome I might get.. i'm sorry for all who get a less than optimal outcome.

i went to a famous NYC dry eye specialist and first thing he told me was that i didnt have dry eye . I think my eyes are strained because they are working so hard with these horrible lenses.

they do Doretta and if i had terrible dry eye I wouldn't be able to wear contacts 12 hrs a day. so, dry eye isn't the only issue.

So you had IOL exchange? I am not sure I understand. I had IOL for astigmatism and I also sometimes get double vision on brightly lit signs,tv, etc. It is disappointing. Because my left eye is reasonably OK, and my right eye is not, it is very tiring to function. I will do the exchange I am making an appointment for a second opinion.

I had my rt cataract removed 10 weeks ago and was undercorrected by -.75. But, i am not doing an IOL exchange. my double vision on tv and brightly lit signs is resolving. i hope your exchange goes well.

I had super high expectations of the outcome after I decided to have oculentis lenses implanted, however, I was devastated with the outcome, I could not see well at all, it was like looking through 3d glasses with vaseline on them. After 4 horrible weeks I had them exchanged for symfony, I agree, the flare on lights is less than ideal but the ghosting has gone, fluro lighting is more tolerable and since I have come to terms with my decision, the neuroadaption is kicking in.

I had laser twice in one eye for refractive error and and the tear film is unstable which does effect the consistency of my vision but I do not need glasses for any distance now, reading distance is exceptional.

Things are not perfect and I still have undesirable aberations such as concentric circles around street lights but I must say the jury is still out for me as I continue to see things settle, adjust and improve now 1 year on.

symfony EDoF (extended depth of focus) its a type of multifocal

You will probably see the concentric circles (spiderwebs) always. That is due to lens design. If you are free from halos, starbursts and other artifacts, that is a pretty good outcome

I know two people who had IOL exchanges with excellent success. The risks of serious complications are double original risks, so 2/1000 instead of 1/1000, which is still very low. Most important is to use a experienced surgeon and make the decision as early as possible. My Dr. recommended 6 months or less, but has done exchanges up to 1 year without a problem.

I am so confused, the surgery in that eye was done January 8, three months ago, although my eyesight has shown some improvement, I still see some bunching up of letters especially when I need to read and I think it's the power of the IOl because this problems disappears when I read with some glasses...also my vision 10 feet or further in that eye is blurry and useless. Where in the country did you go? Who is your doctor, do you mind sharing that information. My dismissive surgeon worked in a big hospital in my area and no friend of his will want to disagree with him. He says he did everything perfectly but I know that is not the case. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me and glad you are fine.

I am located in Pittsburgh PA, and use South Hills Eye Associates. My DR. is also my surgeon. They have 5 surgeons at this location. Seek a second opinion immediately, what lens did you choose, and how was it set?
