Hi All,

I want to compile a new list of all the symptoms we have experienced that aren't on the 66 listed. If you could take a minute to write yours, that would be great. I'd really like to get these lists to all of our doctors out there, so hope when we are finished you will too..

My latest is burning foot, just one foot

Also noticed anxiety and depression did not make the list

Sensitivity to drugs

Frozen shoulder (aka menopausal or 50's shoulder)

Pain in upper back near shoulder blade

Trouble breathing (beyond shortness of breath, can't get a deep breath in)

High heart rate (even with low blood pressure)

Burning facial and upper body skin without sweating

sore, dry throat

I know this is an older discussion, but does anyone suffer or heard of incredibly oily skin? All over the body? What is this? Been to skin doctor, gynecologist, endocrinologist, no one claims to know what I'm talking about! It's itchy and feels like "Crisco". Doctors have been bouncing me back and forth to the other and won't help. They claim they don't know what it is which is distressing to me! Also, my eyes and jaw have shrunk. No weight gain or hot flashes. I'm guessing it's some type of hormone imbalance but cannot get blood testing correctly or help! Also, the list should add thin skin that is sensitive to clothes, perfumes, lotions, etc. Also, weight distribution.

I'm the opposite on my body, my skin is so incredibly dry! Nothing seems to help. And I'm the same as you, have become very sensitive to perfumes, etc. I will use organic coconut oil on my skin, but it doesn't seem to help that much. I bought some baby oil to use after my shower, but I even got rashy from that!

And yes, my eyes have shrunk! I haven't notice my jaw shrinking, but def my eyes.

Thanks for adding to our list!

I have the extra dry itchy burny skin thing going on. My eyelids are droopy now making me look sad all the time. I found out they call it "hooded eyelids". I'm also getting saggy skin around my jawline. No weight problems so far, thank goodness. But my motivation to do anything has practically gone away which is frustrating because I'm an artist. I think about painting or drawing or working on making dolls but can't find the energy to do anything! So frustrating!

I went to see a surgeon about my eyes, he said it wasn't my eyelids drooping, it was my whole face and I'd need an upper face lift to fix the problem! And I'm also noticing my skin drooping at my jaw and I'm getting an ugly looking neck. I've got a magnifying mirror which doesn't help matters.

Although for how sick I was I'm just feeling like I'm lucky to still be around!

I know about the motivation thing. I have about one good week a month when I'm super motivated to do everything. Then BAM it hits me again and I have a hard time just getting my butt off the sofa.

I have horrible back pain that feels it coming from my ribs. Frustrating

Gosh, I had that one too. It's one I forgot about.

So strange why hormones cause all these crazy symptoms.

It must affect the central nervous system in some way.

Do you get relief from anything? Do you find it comes and goes along with your hormone levels?

      Hi, Suzanne

I think hormones absolutely mess with our nervous system. I have the pins in needles in my left arm and leg off and on. It's manageable. The rib pain seems to stick around. It stays for weeks and then I have a few days off. It never waked me up at night so I tell myself if it's allowing me to sleep it can't be life threatening. The health anxiety is worse than many of my physical symptoms!

Healthy anxiety is a beeotch. I would sit up all night googling symptoms. It just made matters so much worse worrying that I was dying of every cancer imaginable. And if you read the symptoms of anxiety, they can be every symptom we have! So who knows what's from what? Although anxiety and depression does come with peri, it screws with our brains.

I've now gotten to the point that I will feel the depressive or anxiety thoughts come on, as well as physical symptoms like pain in my side, and realize that it coincides with my burning feet and legs. So I now know that it's my body's version of a hot flash. It last for a little while and then goes away. I don't linger on these symptoms anymore.

Thats a really helpful way of thinking about it all - thats it just your body's way of having a hot flash... thank you.

I am also finding the curable app brilliant too. defo' worth a try.

For a while I had heartburn sit right in the middle of my chest for weeks! I thought it was my heart & did the same thing...Googled myself to the point of near insanity. Finally I saw so many others suffering from heartburn that I took some Tums and it went away within an hour. Now when it happens I recognize it for what it is. My main problem is also mental. I worry about every little weirdness that I feel. I've learned to rationalize though. If I really think it's something serious I will go to a doctor. I've had so many weird mental things go on! One is the "membrane" feeling. Suddenly I feel like I'm walking in a dream viewing the world through a membrane. Colors are more vibrant & the edges of things seem sharper. It's weird! The feeling comes with bouts of vertigo too. I feel separated from reality and dizzy, but rational. When this happens, my husband has to drive because I just don't feel safe. I feel very lucky to have a supportive spouse who realizes I'm going through biological changes. I've had an MRI & my brain is good, so no tumors or anything. I'm also not on any meds except for occasional Aleve for joint pain. I don't drink a lot or take any weird drugs. My only conclusion is it has to do with hormone fluctuations. Does anyone else experience this kind of thing?

i have the same burning foot thing too... plus quite a few other annoying symptoms. sore throat, achy muscles, sore joints - seems to have passed. i notice i tend to feel worse in the mornings too - low energy etc..

i have started to take macca root extract, multi minerals and vits, omega 3, and have upped my fruit and veg' intake - cut sugar though i have dark chocolate and i still have a glass of wine or two at the weekends.. im really hoping that all these measures kick in soon as the last few months have been horrible. i haven't been able to run or do any yoga because my body has been too sore.

I have been quite tearful too, but have learned (through my osteopath) that crying is a great way to get rid off some of the nasty hormones rampaging around our bodies.. weepy movies are positively good for us!

ANY advice would be much appreciated.

I seem to only have one good week a month without pain. And that week I work out like a fiend. I'm in awful shape. And now that the gastritis is under control and I've started eating normally, all the weight I lost (30 pounds) I've gained back and added ten more! I'm just praying that one day all these symptoms will go away and stay away. I skipped two periods lately, so hoping..

Interesting what your osteo said about crying. Sounds like they know more than most doctors. But I'd prefer to watch happy movies. Better for the depression!

Keep me updated on your supplements and if anything is working for you.

Yoga will be very helpful (especially hot yoga) it will help to alleviate your sore muscles. deep breathing and meditation also helps with anxiety associated with menopause.
