About two months ago I got a home visit from a nurse who works for the insurance company. She was running late and in a hurry so that may explain her refusal to listen to what I was trying to tell her, but it does not excuse it.
She took all the vitals and such, and then when she got to stregnth, she just said "You look strong to me" and went right on even though I was lying on the bed trying to tell her that I was extremely WEAK and could not even stand or sit for more than a few minutes without support.
Argh! She sent a copy of her "report" to the clinic and the doctor just said that it was useless, it had no relationship to reality.
So here is the person who is going to tell the insurance company, which is paying for all these tests, that she just GLANCED at me and I "looked strong." If it is possible for a nurse to tell what problems I have with a glance why have I been going through all these tests for the last three years?
ECG, EMG, MRI, X-Ray, CAT scan, ultrasounds and dozens of blood tests, and she wasn't interested in anything except that I "looked strong."
I figure that in the next 6 to 12 months I will have to move to a nursing home or get a motorized wheelchair. It's going to be tough enough without having to fight the insurance company because their nurse wouldn't LISTEN to me.
Good luck!
Sunny

i just oust don't get their obstinance and either. . The UR supposed to follow protocol not turn a deaf ea on their patience. Clearly she's in the wrong profession. I hope u get the proper care soon.. Just done five up. Sometimes your voice needs to be heard. A letter to the administrator will be a good start.
hoe u feel better soon. This betting well is such a struggle. Stay strong.
There will be a day in a few months when pain will only be a memory.

Sometimes it's not what they say it the tone and judgemental attitude they say the stupid things. Sometimes ya just gotta laugh... What goes round comes round!

Maybe you should say what I told the doctor at the pain clinic today: "I wake up every morning feeling like I've been beaten with sticks, only lately they've been using bigger sticks."
Good luck!

i hope u feel better soon. Sometimes I wake up so sore I'll take a couple of Tylenol then rest a bit more . Then after 20 min most of the time I'm not quite as stiff and sore. It really makes a difference. Then off for am coffee with a smile on my face instead of the grump face. Isn't it funny how our faces give us away. I could still be smiling / hurting and my partner will say. U look a little stiff this morning.... UGG,
