Worst: Having to "sleep" sitting up for 6 weeks, and only getting 5 - 6 hours of sleep per day during that whole time.

Best: NOT having to do any cleaning chores, food shopping, cooking, laundry, etc. for a long time!

Hi Annie, I was back to washing ,Ironing and doing drinks for myself & my disabled Hubby to as I didn't have a proper care package at all.so I have a failed hip replacement,& my other hip & knees which need doing, but I am too scared of hospitals. So I have regular Reflexology & when we go away for mini hotel breaks we stay in hotels where I can use a jacuzzi. As warm water helps.I have tight muscles.Rant over regards Amanda

Sounds like it was a nightmare, Amanda. Glad you can get away and use that jacuzzi. I'm looking forward to being able to go use a warm, therapeutic pool. Will love that feeling of being weightless and less pain. I have lots of minor OA pains all over!

The worst was the intense pain 1 hour after surgery.  The anesthesiologist forgot to put in an order for pain relief for me once I got to my room.  I was screaming with pain clutching onto the side of the bed.  It really freaked my husband out.  The only other pain I've ever felt like that is when I was in the final stage of labor with my sonsad

The best was not having to go to work for several weekssmile

Worst - First two weeks after the operation - pain and getting used to sleeping on back.

Enjoyed - catching up on TV programmes normal don't have time to watch.

Ohhhh what a question . The toilet/washing scenario was my worst. My best, waking with no hip pain for the first time in my life that I can remember.

    Worst:

Getting in and out of bed first week or so

    Lack of sleep

Not able to bath / shower (was reliant on mum twice a week)

    Best:

The support on this forum, especially at 2am as can't sleep

    Being home with the cat

About 6 days after surgery all of the fluids started coming out of my body. Every 15 minutes. And lying on my back with the proper leg support. Wouldn't you know I found it just recently? And not really sleeping for the first 4 weeks or so.

Worst: Getting up every hour to go to the toilet at night

Best: Beind excused chores, and seeing my son volunteer to do the washing up.

Getting into bed was the worst as I'm 4 11 on a good day.and it was really hard to get into our bed which is an electric bed and higher off the ground than most.Favorite-Feeling my pain levels go down from where they were preop and believing there really is light at the end of this tunnel that I have been hobbeling through for the last 2 1/2 years 😊??

The worst for me was having to use a bed pan, in a room full of 8 more patients without curtains around the bed. I held my "number 2" for 1 week until I got home because I was so self conscious about the whole embarrassing thing! VERY UNCOMFORTABLE😆. The best thing was that I was cared for by my family and got to spend 4 months at home with them till I returned to work! And most important of all......NO MORE PAIN!!!

Oh my goodness.  That sounds horrible!  I would have stopped eating just so that I wouldn't have to go.  Thankfully your home nowsmile
