The worst...Sleeping, or trying to, on my back for 6 weeks

The best... Realising that I could manage on public transport on my crutches, and having some lovely days out by the sea. ( It was summer.)

Judith ,I miss the oceans smell .I could taste the sea on my lips.I don't miss the smell of the cranberry Boggs though . Years ago when I was a child my father and I slept at the beach in California.I guess it was like beach camping.Loved it .Glad you got to make that memory Judith.

The Californian coast is amazing . Sounds as if you have some very happy memories of being there with your father.

Worst - leaving TV on overnight as in and out of GA. It was Tuesday 8th November. Work it out yourselves !

    Best - No pain

Sleeping on my back well If u can call it that! In and out of bed nightmare! Having to rely on other people I e struggled with recovery this time around even tho I've had a good recovery I'm being in patient I've been irritable hopefully very soon I can see the positives,I don't enjoy being off wrk or spending time at home! The bit I did like was my son coming in from school me being home and his tea being ready felt like we had quality time

Getting up under physio instructions off the bed after the op the worst . I used the F word . Best ? Entire 6 seasons of Game of thrones ... as bloody as constant hip surgery 😜

Worst part of recovery was being 6 weeks non weight bearing. 🤔🤔.... Best part was finally being able to sleep on unoperated side!

The worst was the constipation, not being able sleep comfortably, not being able to do somethings for myself ( putting on my socks and pants, etc.), and not being able to wear my clothes because of the swelling.

The best was not having to do the house work.

Ok worst for me is still sleeping on my back!!

    My bum hurts😂😂😂😂

Best is 14 days today after the op I could use 1 crutch to get around kitchen! And I put on 3 pounds since the op ( lost a lot of weight due to pain and painkillers- and I was thin anyways so looking good)

Hope everyone is doing good!!! And this forum is the best😄😄😄

Worst: my dry mouth, was worse than cardboard and lasted for 3 days. My tongue kept sticking to the roof of my mouth.

Best: my son flying from the UK as a surprise (I live in Tasmania!)

Ann, I had horrid dry mouth, too, after both of my surgeries (general anesthetic). But mine only lasted a few hours each time. Can't imagine 3 days of it. How awful! What sweet surprise, that visit from your son!

It's funny isnt it i think that was worse than my hip pain! Getting out of bed day 1 with the physio making me walk up the hallway and back wasn't very nice either! I'm dreading the dry mouth after hip op 2 next year too, might have to reconsider ha ha

I kept putting a constant stream of ice chips in my mouth during the dry mouth. And many, many sips of water. It was way worse than any pain I had, for sure!
