Lies on pip assessment report

Posted , 7 users are following.

I've just received a copy of my report from my assessment for pip and to say I'm angry would be an understatement, I'm furious, the lady who did my assessment has lied on my report, she hasn't taken into account many things that were said, she's lied about my conditions, the whole report from start to finish is full of lies and atrocious grammar.Seemingly they have a report for me from a doctor from 2016???? I have a new doctor so why haven't they contacted them? If this looks a bit all over please excuse me but I am LIVID,how can these people lie like they do,it only causes more problems for everyone, has anyone else had this problem with ATOS and if so how do I go about getting it rectified?

Another thing I could do with advice on,because I've had my application for PIP will that affect my ESA? I'm in the support group for ESA and am now worried that because the assessor has lied and said I'm not entitled to pip will that mean they can also stop my ESA? This is all very worrying!

I meant because I've had my claim for pip rejected will that affect my ESA? Please excuse the mistake in previous post!

    Hi

Reading your post makes me not want to attend my f2f with Atos on the 1st May.

They won't grant me a home visit saying that my medication can make me aggressive i have no criminal record and theres no evidence to suggest such a thing.

I worked and my illnesses have stopped me doing.

I have PTSD, Severe Anxiety disorder, depression and i have been struggling for a very long time. I have no friends not 1 i can't socialise with anyone in person. My mum visits me twice a week to help me but thats all the family help i have.

I can't leave my house alone due to panic atracks resulting in me fitting losing consiousness which I've been admitted to hospital.

My support worker takes me to appointments in her car and makes phone calls for me.

All this stress is just making my situation worse.

    Any advice please.😓

      Hi Kerry,

For a home assessment you'll need a letter from your GP stating the reasons why it's needed. Even then they have been known to refuse a claimant.

If you refuse the assessment then you could end up being refused the benefit. Is this for PIP? You posted on another person PIP thread so i'm guessing yes it is.

Did you send in evidence to support your claim? Is this your first assessment for a new claim or a review of an existing claim?

Hi Kerry sadly Denise is right, home visits are hard to get and her advice is crack on, I had to have home visit and only because I couldn't travel in a car as I couldn't walk and couldn't use a wheelchair at that point, bed bound 😁 not bound to the bed LOL have to have a laugh or it all gets too much, I'm probably going to have to have office F2F November as I happily a bit more able and can get from car on crutches or chair, make sure you have adequate time to get their, take your tabs in plenty of time and just remember why your making the effort, do the asking quickly as May 1st will come round fast, you can ring of course I did.

If a claimant has enough of evidence to prove that a home visit is needed and you ask for is on the forms then they MAY agree without the need for a letter from your GP. I know this because when i applied for PIP for my daughter last year, i made sure i requested a home visit on her forms. I fully expected them to say no, which would have meant a visit to her GP but thankfully i didn't need to. They agreed without arguing. An appointment date was sent within 2 weeks of returning her forms. I did send over 40 A4 pages of medical evidence to support her claim though, so they really couldn't argue that one was needed.

A letter from a GP isn't always enough to prove that one is needed, if you haven't sent enough evidence to go with it. I've heard of them refusing plenty of times with a letter from a GP.

      Hi

Yes they say a letter from my GP won't be enough. It's like they believe i am prescribed my medication for nothing and my medical history means nothing to them. I thought PIP was there to support us through these illnesses and conditions not put us through more considerable distress impacting more on our health.

Its at 9am in the morning on 1st may. Depending on how i am the night before i don't even know how i am going to be. I don't even know how long i will be suffering with this as all i am told is i am on waiting lists for therapy. I hid the fact i was ill for so long its only since my medication as been put up I'v admitted to my GP i need help.

I've a long medical history of truama/self harm/sexual abuse at age 5/ domestic abuse/ grief. List goes on.

      Thanks for your help.

PIP is there to support people yes but evidence is vital and plays a massive part in being successfully awarded.

Waiting lists for CBT etc are very long in most parts of the country, unfortunately. Then when you've reached the top and therapy starts you're usually limited to around 6 weeks. At least that was the case for me in the past.

Maybe that taxi idea of mine is possible? At least that way you'll be able to have the assessment without risking your file being returned to DWP without an assessment.

I do not let anyone into my home, i ignore my door keep my blinds shut.

My mum could be present but she just brings up bad memories from my childhood. The fact they have said they won't do a home visit due to if i get violent is totally unfounded. I have never a person in my life im a risk to myself ive admitted that but i just dont know what to do..

      Thanks for listen

If you won't let anyone into your home i don't understand why you want a home assessment? You posted at the start asking about home assessments?

For your PIP claim to stand any chance of an award you will have to have an assessment, whether it be at home or at one of their centres. It's extremely rare to have a paper based assessment. Even those that have sent in huge amounts of evidence to support their claim still have to have an assessment. I sent in over 40 A4 pages of medical evidence for my daughters PIP claim for mental health, yet she still had to go through the assessment.

I posted to ask for help because Atos have refused a home visit and the reason they have gave is unfounded i have never been violent to anyone its been the other way around.

I did not post to be judged i posted for help because i am struggling in every day so called life.

I haven't once judged you in any of my replies to you. I wish you good luck with your claim.

Your words were -If you won't let anyone into your home i don't understand why you want a home assessment? You posted at the start asking about home assessments?

I posted for advice not to be questioned that's all i meant I've been totally honest with everyone and thankyou all for your support.

Kerry you have to remember that all the advice/support on these forums is completely voluntary and we can have loads of posts on the go at one time, you did say you wouldn't let anyone in so Denise wasn't only picking up on that fact because saying that but also saying you have to have a home visit contradicted itself, nobody judge's anyone on here, we just have to be honest and it's not always easy to hear it, PIP s not easy to obtain so you will probably need more advice so please don't burn the bridges take care

I have spent my last couple of hours advising you Kerry. At the start of your questions you didn't state that you won't let anyone into your home. The reason i asked the question was because you didn't state this at the start. You simply posted a reply on another persons thread asking about home assessments and they won't agree to one.  I wasn't judging you! but you did actually contradict yourself!  If we don't have all the info it's impossible to advise someone.

Alexandria and myself both have our health issues too and we give our time to others to help them. It makes our life harder when all the correct info isn't told. I have no problems helping others claim a benefit they're entitled to but please don't accuse me of judging you.

I wish you good luck with your PIP claim. Take care now.
