Lightheadedness.....

Hi I'm Steve, 32.I'm not sure I'm posting in the right area but I'm really hoping some one may have a inkling as to what's going on... Mid December I was driving down the road and all of a sudden I got tingles down my arms and legs and my heart rate shot through the roof. I managed to drive myself to the hospital thinking I was having heart attack. I had all the usual routine checks and was told it was a panic attack.... Went to see a Dr the day after as I still felt awfully lightheaded with pains everywhere. Again I was told it was a panic attack, take some proponolol and it will all go away... After taking them for a few days I was rushed back to hospital as they had made me look like a zombie... I was in bed for 6 weeks due to this horrible lightheadedness, I kept going to the Dr's to be told I'm stressed, depressed, and its anxiety. I'm not stressed, nor am I depressed, nor am I an anxious person. I went to see a mental health nurse who said that I wasn't depressed or anxious in any way and to go back to my Dr. After 6 weeks in bed I was still lightheaded with pains all over..... We are now 4 months on... I'm still lightheaded, mostly feeling like I'm going to pass out ( although I never have actually passed out) Im getting alot of headaches, pains in and around my ears and have qiuet bad tinnitus from it all. Loud noises all of a sudden make my ears crackle. I've now been off work 4 months as I drive children for a living and don't like the idea of driving while lightheaded. Dr's are taking no interest at all, I've paid to go private for a brain and auditory mri scan next week ( which I'm 99% certain is going to come back all clear but it's another thing I can tick off the possibilities) I also have a cardiologist appointment ( which I had to really push for through the NHS in 3 weeks) My blood & oxygen pressures have been fine. I was given sertraline, that just made things worse, they then told me to try duloxetine, that has stopped some of the chest pains I was having but done nothing else.
I was prepared for any outcome of this even if it was a depression I didn't know I was having or anxiety. But 4 months on and I'm still not right.
Does any 1 have any sort of info on this or has had any of the same symptoms? Please do get in touch. Every little helps. Thanks all.

Yes all sounds very familiar. I'm having problems with ears popping and feeling blocked. Pains above the ears also. I was suffering with pains across my chest muscles. I asked the Dr if I could go on duloxetine as I read its good for pains and it's definitely taken the chest pains away.
I'm die to go for an mri tommorow on my brain and an auditory mri to check my ears as the tinnitus / buzzing is constant. It aes we are all in a very similar boat. I've also been hearing blood rushing around my left ear. on a daily basis. But the Dr's can't seem to find any issues around there.

LOL! bloody auto correct and exactly the worst thing it could say lol you have to laugh!!
I get the ear pains, my right ear especially and then my right eye feels lazy! Then i get aches in my throat also and chest pains its AWFUL! I feel like my Drs see my name on their schedule and roll their eyes at this point lol Ive had bloods taken and I had low iron, folate and vit d so was put on replacements and still i feel dizzy every day. Its the dizziness that worries me the most because i have had all the other symptoms with anxiety but i have never in my life had this motion feeling its so bizarre

Bless you. Its horrible isn't it. Duloxetine is for nerve pain and its also a antidepressant. I only took it on the off chance it would help with the pains and it has done. So it might be worth a look into. Whatever you do don't read up reviews online about it as they will put you off it. But they are great at there job. Also ask your doc for some prochlorperazine. Just to rule out vertigo. You can take them alongside any meds they are for dizziness / vertigo. I tried a weeks worth just to rule vertigo out. All my vitamin counts were low in January so I've been on vitamin every day but still no help. Also get yourself some vit b12 spray as b12 deficiency is a mass cause of lightheadedness. I'm back for another blood test this week. See what crops up this time round lol.
I also managed to get some lorazepam for sleep from the docs. I no they are very addictive but they certainly helped for a month or so, I tried my best to get another pack but they refused blank as they are benzos. Worth a try 😂

lol its always worth a try! i have had 2 different medications for vertigo including the one you mentioned being the last one they put me on 2 weeks ago and told me i need to take it for 4 weeks this time before i say its not working. I kinda got the hint this particukar GP is fed up of me but I wont stop until I get to the bottom of it. At least if ive had everything checked that could be from anything sinister then my mind will then be able to accept its anxiety but at the moment i dont feel like i can because its just such a physical symptom. I even questioned the CT scan when i got my results and started googling 'can a CT scan miss tumours' so even when you do get the results it still doesnt stop the worrying at times. Its such a bloody pain and so draining every single day isnt it. If i keep busy i get through the day but if not ill have a panic attack without fail. My diazepams dont even help anymore. Its good to be able to have a bit of humour about it but really imagine what we all could have been doing with all the time weve spent on worrying, googling and panicking. i have a wonderful husband and incredible children and it makes me so sad that this condition stops me from being mentally present with them some days 😦

Bless you I feel the same with my Mrs and kids. It just seems so much time wasted. As for the prochlorperazine if it's not worked after a week don't bother with it. They should work from day 1 if it's going to. Strangely I've never had another panic attack. It was just a 1 off. I get the feeling GPS aren't interested. I said that to a private dr I went to and she said to be honest, I work for the NHS and unless you've got a cold or a rash, they haven't got time to treat or diagnose you! I thought great, that fills me full of hope!! 🤣🤣. Eventually I'm going to go see 2 different ent, s 1 NHS and 1 private. Hopefully they can come up with something between the 2 of them. I think it's all definitely vestibular / ear related.

Hiya elisha. Hope your alright. The scan went great apart from me nodding off in the machine. My brain decided I wasn't having much sleep last night so I was tired! It made the nurses laugh once they'd tapped my foot and woke me up any way LOL. I'll keep you updated no problem. I get the results next Tuesday.
This may be a small coincidence but last night I brought myself some Tetleys super green tea ( with vitamins in) and it is the mango and pineapple flavour. Had a couple of cups and felt qiuet abit better after it. Had a cup this morning & I've felt qiuet abit better today also. I no they say green tea is good for you anyway, especially for anxiety issues ect. Might be worth a try when you go shopping again. 😃

hey steve lol thats so funny you fell asleep! i have 2 kids under 2 and i feel you, youve got to get it where you can! I am going to try the tea thanks for that 😃 Today I went for a private ultrasound of my upper and lower abdomin because i get bloated, gas and terrible reflux symptoms and of course the internet told me i have the C word somewhere in my tummy lol turns out it wasnt a wasted trip! I have 2 fairly big gallstones!! buggers! she showed me them in 4D sitting happily next to each other causing me agro! I actually feel good in a strange way because although I came away with some findings, its ruling out the C word which is my biggest fear and i know now I have no C word anywhere in my tummy or uterus 😃 Apparently the NHS wont do anything about my stones unless they cause me major problems. I still havent gotten to the bottom of my motion dizziness which is what bothers me the most! I will get there! Hope youre having a good week x

Hiya elisha. Not having a bad week Thankyou and still seem to feel better due to this tea! Strange lol. Make sure you pick one of the flavours that says immune on. Ah excellent news, As you probably know, anxiety plays a massive part of gas & reflux. I was suffering with it for around 3 months. So I started taking 1 rennie a day and that sorted it out after 2 days. As for the C word, Don't let it bother you. At least you can relax now and know for certain. My old dear had stones for many years, she eventually had them took out. Try not to worry about them, and if needs be, you can always tell them they are playing you up to get them removed. Do you wear glasses? Have you had a recent checkup, that's 1 to double check if you haven't as the vestibular nerves behind the eyes cause dizzyness. I had a 3d eye scan done at specsavers to check mine wasn't caused by the eyes. But all turned out OK. Does the room spin when you close your eyes? Have you had a stand up and sit down blood pressure test also to rule that out?

Hi hun yes I been reading about them all afternoon and have a better understanding. I recently did a heart disease risk test with a blood test tested by medicheck! Its actually quite a handy service although you have to pay, you just purchase the test you want and they post it to you, you prick your finger and fill the sample pot and send it back in the prepaid packet. They notify you when its there and within 2 days i had my results with a full report from a Dr! Very handy with this pandemic. Anyway all my cholesterol levels were just out of range and one important one was really out and its too much cholesterol that causes these stones so that all makes sense but it has made me completely change my diet and now i have the stone i certainly need to decrease fatty foods so actually a great thing has come from this because I am making big changes. Yes one of the first things i did when i started getting this dizziness was book an eye check because i knew tumours can be detected and she said i have 20/20 vision!!! i certainly dont feel like i do. Even at the clinic today i felt like i couldnt focus on something for long and it just feels so strange. Its like i am bobbing up and down. My blood pressure is always good and always on the lower side of normal range and thats sitting and standing. I just dont understand what is happening to me and i just cant process its anxiety because some days especially lately i have been fine but i still feel the bobbing and its getting more noticeable which worries me also. Like i said before, i have had a ct scan and the dr said theres no way it would miss anything sinister in my head. I just dont know but I am so determined to find out x

Hiya elisha. I've seen them blood tests before. They are a great idea. I think this motion movement your describing would be connected to your balance. Have you had your ears checked by an ent? Maybe just another idea to tick off the list. A few months back I was really struggling with my balance, I used to go out shopping, and the bright lights and noisy shops used to make me feel really ill and off balance. I told the docs all the way through I was fine, not anxious and calm but they still insisted it was anxiety

hey steve sorry for late reply ive been feeling terrible! dizziness got worse and i just feel so deflated! how are you? did you get any results back? i hope everything is ok. dr gave me betahistine today and told me to take them for 3 weeks and hopefully the governments restrictions will be lifted and he will refer me to see an ENT specialist. I did a work out this morning and afterwards it felt like my blood wasnt pumping around my head evenly and my ears were really out of sync. Im so fed up x

Hiya. Aww bless you, I no that feeling very well. I got them back and all clear, ears & brain. Had another meeting with private dr today, she said there's 1 or 2 other minor possibilities for the ears and pains but she wants to wait until I have seen a cardiologist, who has just cancelled on me for next week. Typical! Keep working out daily even if its just a 15 minute youtube vid each day. That feeling of blood not pumping is a barrier that sits around your brain. I had it for over 12 weeks. Kept telling the docs my circulation wasn't right but they just said the same old "oh your stressed".. Bollox! Lol. Send me a message and tell me what meds your taking currently, as I've tried a few some have worked and some haven't. I'll see if maybe I can point you in the right direction of what to ask for. Don't forget your vitamins every morning, and keep your sugar intake as low as possible 😃

I think if you can keep your mind occupied elsewhere time will take care of the rest of it all. For every hour you keep occupied, is another hour for your body to get to work and start fixing itself without being interrupted by your anxiety lol
