Linx surgery for acid reflux

Has anyone esperienced this relatively new surgery for acid reflux which doesnt respond to drugs.
Or does anyone know anything about it. It is much es invasive than the nissen fondiplication op. done by day surgery I think. My gastro ent. didnt mention it but I thought I might investiage.just out of interest as a possible future option if all else fails. I am having so much trouble with side effects from
drugs and not much effect on my acid reflux either still getting reflux at night and quite sore throat.
Any comments welcome.

Finally, when looking for a 'pocket' in my throat doing the Barrium test they accidentally discovered that I had a HORRIBLE (one of the worst cases they've seen) of silent acid reflux. Bunch more test later they confirmed I have a ridiculous case of silent acid reflux and they think is causing the taste, so they want to do the Linx surgery.
Sooooooooo, I'm really curious as if the people who suffered from the smelly burps and gas, has it gone away? And did the doctor give you the reasoning why it smelled like sulfur? My doctor has warned me about the burping and gas, but not how bad it can smell/taste. I've lived with a horrible taste in my mouth for two years, the last thing I want to do is trade that in for a sulfer taste! It the horrible foul gas and burping last for a few months then I can deal, but dying to know if it does eventually go away.

I have just been diagnosed with GERD. A bit of a shock as the drop has been so sudden - suddenly all food coming up. It appears that previously I had a silent reflux and just did not realise - did not connent the symptoms. This means that the meds I was prescribed increasingly do not work. Started with omezaprole - increased, then rabeprazole - incrased, added raniditine too - increased, now labeprazole (30 am 30 pm) + raniditine.
Can someone please tell me how far does it have to go before I get referred to GI in the UK. I have nearly cried in my GP's surgery, but he is not budging saying I have to give all the meds a go.
Although I have officially suffered rather shortly, I am at the end of my witts 1 month down the line. Only sleep 1-2 hours a night. Currently on sick leave - but how will I manage my job I am the main breadwinner?
Can someone let me know what tests am I likely to have and how long these take in the UK before I can even get to LINX please? I am really desperate.
I am so sad, as if I had true symptoms, I could have changed my lifestyle, tested food that works, etc. I just had this sudden blow - really upsed...
Any advice woudl be really appreciated. With great wishes to all. Denise
