Lisiniprol and Losartan

Hi all,

I was started on Lisiniprol and had a terrible cough so doc swithched me to 25mg Losartan. I have been taking it since January 11th. the drug works well as far as no side effects but it seems like BP is higher than when I was on Lisiprol and my numbers are all over the board.Anyone have any suggestions or insight, I am new to high blood pressure.

    Hi Everyone,

    Sorry to be a pain but i have another question. Can Lorsartan give you a fast heartbeat and sometime shortness of breath.I still have that dry cough too, they said that woyld go away in a couple weeks, its getting better but still there. I am also a light smoker.

      Not in my case, Jesilu, but we are all different and therefore can expect to respond to medication in different ways.  However, I think I mentioned in a previous reply that my trusted pharmacist informed me that Losartan is the drug about which he hears the least complaints from patients.  Certainly, I have experienced side effects from about 6 other BP meds to date, but not Losartan.

      Thats very good to know. I also just got a new machine because I thought mine was giving inaccurate readings. I took my pressure tonight.

      New machine 129/84

      Old machine 141/78

      Thats a huge difference.
