I am coming off of gabapentin. It’s now day 5. This awful drug caused me soo much suffering mentally, it’s unreal how much mental problems it’s caused me, they completely rotted my mind! but I am in the process of building myself back from this terrible drug & am just looking for people to write a list of side effects they experienced from gabapentin just so I can relate. Thankyou in advance!

    Insomnia, can’t think and made me eat paintboff the walls as I was so hungry. Made my ears ring worse. Now am off and never going back!

      Do you feel better after coming off them? How long have you been off?? Im  so scared I’m gonna be like this forever now sad sad  im so gutted I ever had this awful stuff in my system !!!

      Tyler,!i have been off now for about 50 days now and the side effects went away other than my ears ring louder. I have always had tinnitus but I thought it raised the level. As for insomnia I cured that with magnesium. I started taking magnesium before I quit and it helped me so much I also take an empson salt bath each night to relax. Sounds crazy but I read this online and off a website that helped people detox from this drug. As for the foggy brain it cleared as well by taking magnesium. I hope you get better!

    short term memory totally destroyed, had not got a clue what i was doing. But can remember things from many many years ago at an instant. Had to quit university, house on fire, attempting to drive wrong way around roundabouts, leaving keys in front door and car ignition etc etc etc, only good thing is it worked for RLS and can not drink when even small amounts in system. come off them and NO SLEEP!

      Pretty much all your side effects I’ve got in some way..

      How long have you been off them?? Do you ceel better coming off them? I’m so scared that I’m like this forever now sad 

      I’m having big issues with sleep lately it’s awful, my eyes are closed but wide awake.. 

      I really hope this mental problems will go away now I’ve stopped 🙏🙏🤞🤞

    Very vivid dreams, loss of short term memory, feels like im 'drunk' couple to few hours after taking it, tired

      I’ve had some very vivid dreams on these tablets.. awful dreams. 

      I have a lot of problems with my eyes lately too..

      I was on this evil drug for 3 months at 900mg a day! The 3rd month I had a lot of side effects! Blurry vision, muscle weakness, memory issues, crying a lot, couldn’t find words, insomnia you name it I had it! Sad thing is I’ve been off 2 months and still dealing with horrible withdrawals! My dr took me off to fast! All the things I have read is you have to go off very slow!

      I’ve had & still having all the side effects you’ve explained. It’s terrible.. do you think there’s a chance we can go back to how our minds where before? I don’t wanna be like this permanently I’m so scared of that 😢😢

      I know what you are going through! I pretty sure we will it will take time! How long were you on it? How did you go off if you have? Not cold turkey I hope!! There is a lot people that has had these symptoms and said there memory has come back! Mines better, but have the itchy prickly skin, eyes are still not right! Just try to hang in there! Hopefully things will start getting better! It could take awhile! Good Luck!

      Hi Diane, 

      I’m not doing to bad, not noticing a big different yet, but it’s only been 6 days so I’m just trying to be patient. 

      Having quite a lot of problems with my eyes, can I just ask what problems your having with your eyes ?? Feel like I can’t control where I’m looking..

      My eyes are blurry and have crusty stuff on my eyelashes!! I just joined a group on Facebook called gabapentin awareness group!! You find a lot of interesting things on there! It’s has a lot of people going through problems with gaba!!

    I've been off for 17days now I think. My withdrawal symptoms are memory loss, off balance, confusion, diarrhea, brain fog, anxiety. I hope to feel better as the days go on. Did you stop and was it a taper? God bless and stick with it we will get through this.
