Lithium & antidepressant??

Hi is any1 taking lithium with an antidepressant? I want to stay on the lithium bt desparately need to stop the mirtazapine I'm taking ..most grateful for any income ..thankyou.

    Hi Sharon, am on lithium and citalopram and have no problems. Have been on them for twenty years.

      Hi Louise thankyou so much for your reply .. Iv come off the mirt 2 days ago ..my phyciatrist wasn't happy to pt me on citrolpram just totally dismissed it as we don't have much call for it here .. this so annoyed me .. I'm in such a bad way. So she's told me to go bk to venlafaxine. .I just dnt no what to do.. can you tell me of any side effects ect.. I'm scared of weight gain & I'm sure venlafaxine piles it on iv been on it before bt can't remember why I came off & she didn't care 😕

    Hi Sharon, I had some side effects when I first started, but they went away. I find citalopram much better than venalafaxine as there are less side effects.

      I went to see my gp & he cnt go over the phyciatrist head..I was ment to start ven today bt cnt bring myself too.. I think I'm still having WD from the mirt too..
