Livial I love you!

:D I have been taking Livial for 4 months now and it has really changed my life. At 52, and not having had a period for 18 months, I was suffering terribly with night sweats which woke me on the hour, I was totally sleep deprived and unable to function at work. I was also depressed and had absolutely no interest in sex. I can honestly say that I have not had one hot flush either during the day or night since taking it, my mood is balanced and I can't get enough sex! My weight has stayed exactly the same and my only compaint is that it is a bit expensive. I will certainly keep taking it for as long as I am able, I have done my research extensively and have found no reason to stop.

I'm not on Livil but can relate because I feel the same way about Prempro.

Thank you so much for posting this.  I am a 56 year old lady who was prescribed this a while ago and couldn't start it due to post menopausal bleeding.  This had to be investigated first.  Now that has been done I have been too scared to take it despite my partner begging me to!  It is so helpful to read your positive comments and makes me want to feel " normal" or hopefully as good as you obviously do!  So will have to bite the bullet and just go for it!

Hi Rhino2015   thank you so much for reply.  It is encouraging to read your story.  Re SSRI:  I remember taking Seroxat years ago and although I felt great on it, my libido vanished and when I sttopped it I felt seriously down, worse than before.  Of course we are all different.  Good luck x

Hi all smile  I am from Australia and I wondered if anyone was able to find a cheaper price as it costs around Australian $ 170 or more for 3 packets (180 tablets ) for livial.

I have been on this for about 5 years and my wonderful doctor passed away, she told me that I could stay on them as long as I needed to because I suffered so badly from hot flushes I did not sleep much at all which caused my Fibromyalgia to really worsen.

My new doctor is young and told me I needed to wean myself off and i am now on 1/2 a tablet every 2nd day and I cannot sleep and now feel like a zombie and am in agony with pain.

Do any of you lovely people have Fibromyalgia or auto immune disorders and are on livial ?

I also have since weaning off livial now got the worse reflux ever. I feel so ill and sore all over but my doctor ( doctor now for just 3 months) just seemed set on me having to go off this. I have nothing in my family history to indicate any problems with this medication.

I will try and talk to her again as I have given this a month and feel so ill, I was on 1 tablet every second day and that seemed OK.

If anyone could help me with any advise or any better price for this medication I would be very grateful.

I seem to be catching every cold and bug now as I am so sleep deprived and also my mood ( which may be sleep related as well as hormonal) has worsened.

Thank you for any comments smile

Tia, I think you can claim some of Livial from your healthcare fund.  I was able to with Medibank Private. Everytime I bought a packet, I claimed.  I don't know why all the ladies seem to be so ill, after they come off Livial, could it be something else that is going wrong and not ceasing Livial.

Just wondering if the Livial started relieving symptoms immediately.  I have been on it for 2 weeks now and the night sweats and hot flushes are still no better.  My GP told me it can take 3 months before it starts to relieve symptoms. I have had to take a sleeping tablet in the effort to get some sleep - night sweats still wake me, but not as often.

Hi Sharon.  I have been on livial for a year now and it took most of that time to get me back to feeling what I consider normal again.   The flushes reduced after about 4 months and my aches and pains around six months.  That is not to say I am flush or pain free but on a scale of 1 - 10 i'd say 8-9.  So great improvement. I'm certainly feeling more on top of things and light spirited. I have put on weight though but I'm not sure how much if any can be attributed to Livial and how much to lifestyle changes.  Trying to sort this out. I Hope you start feeling better soon. All the best.

Thanks Caro.  My GP has now put me on a sleeping tablet  in an effort for me to actualy try and sleep through the night sweats.  I was averaging about 1-2 hours per night but now with the sleeping tablet I get maybe 4-5 hours.  I have to take a lunchtime rest also to get me through the day. Fatigue is a major issue for me and I have become run down and developed a chest infection.  I have heard good stories about the Livial - I am just getting impatient waiting for it to help my symptons. I have put on 3kg in weight since taking Livial and have not changed my diet - I can live with weight gain as long as it helps with the other symptoms.  Trying to stay positive. Am going on a cruise in 4 weeks and am hoping for some improvement before then - or I don't think that I will be the best travel companion.

I am 70 years of age, came off Livial about 6 months ago for no reason at all except I thought maybe I should, wondering whether I would be taking it at 80 or 90.  I started to get hot flushes which I have never experienced but they have now abated.   I never had any problems at all taking Livial and I took it for a very long time. I didn't experience any problems with menopause. Didn't even know I was menopausal. I still feel vibrant and sexy.   Can't even remember the date I started, must have been in my 50's... My sex life has been wonderful and still is. Maybe I am just lucky,  I don't why so many women have had trouble with Livial I would recommend it to anybody after my experience.  10/10

Jennifer, stay on it. I am the same age and my doctor agrees I should stay on it until I die. If it means you still enjoy a great sex luge why would you stop. Call it the happy pill.

I agree with you, and agreed with your comments, re livial.. Jennifer 22182 - i was made to come off livial, doctors , clinics...allsorts, would not prescribe for me..nearly 80..i am old they say...but i was satisfied with it in every way....i knew i would be ill if i came off it, and i have been for 18 months...i have symptoms of MS, nearly all of them...and livial is good for the bones, which i have problems with, and now they are much worse...what can you do, if doctors learn their job...and make u come off, and not give prescription anymore..i was the first on the previous discuss of this, as i was so angry about it...in my self, but i try not to get angry..it our life..God Bless...so glad it suits you...Barb.
