Livial I love you!

:D I have been taking Livial for 4 months now and it has really changed my life. At 52, and not having had a period for 18 months, I was suffering terribly with night sweats which woke me on the hour, I was totally sleep deprived and unable to function at work. I was also depressed and had absolutely no interest in sex. I can honestly say that I have not had one hot flush either during the day or night since taking it, my mood is balanced and I can't get enough sex! My weight has stayed exactly the same and my only compaint is that it is a bit expensive. I will certainly keep taking it for as long as I am able, I have done my research extensively and have found no reason to stop.

Hi, I have just started on Tibolone one month ago and happy to post updates on progress to get the thread going again..
So far, I have noticed an increase in mood, energy and mental agility. It has not helped yet with night time flushes, or Libido, but I'm hoping it's early days. I still don't know what the best time to take the pill is - I currently take it at bedtime.
Any other new experiences out there or long-standing Livial supporters willing to post their experiences?
Thanks x

HI! Good to hear from you. Can I ask if you are taking Livial due to natural or surgical menopause? Sounds like maybe natural from what you've said..? Have you noticed any weight changes?
I'm steering clear of the scales for a while as they can be a bit of a negative trigger for me, but I think I've got a slightly more 'padded' look than pre-hysterectomy and Livial (which happened simultaneously for me). On the other hand, I've been recovering for several weeks now and not being terribly active at all so that's got to be taken into consideration for me with regard to weight.
As for Livial itself (touching wood), with my ovaries gone, so far I've not had a single hot flush, night sweat, or any other symptom of menopause except the odd low moment or day. Again where I've been getting over my surgery and stuck indoors in the mid winter, the odd low moment is probably to be expected!
Livial looks to be a success at this early stage for me, and I'll check in to report back as time goes by and I can tell better how the longer term is shaping up. I take mine in the morning by the way! Glad you're getting positive results and hope things improve further for you.

Hi! Great to hear your story so far and wonderful that you are already having some success with Livial. Early days though, as you say, and it will be a better judge once you are over the operation. Yes, mine is a natural menopause. I have already tried oestrogel and then patch, but none has been terribly successful in stopping my symptoms and made me feel either wired or sedated!
I believe (and hope) that Livial and Tibolone are one and the same thing, just a different brand name - mine is Tibolone. I have read some people notice a difference between them, but I can't remember what.
Interesting to hear that you take yours in the morning. As I mentioned, I take mine at bed time but I feel I may need to experiment with timings if my night time flushes don't stop in the next couple of weeks or so.
I will also check in to report back as time goes by and fingers crossed it is as successful as some other reports! Best of luck with your op recovery! x

its 5 years since my last comment. I'm still taking Livial and have tried decreasing it (mainly because if cost) ie but after a week flushes returned so back on nightly. Having spoken to my Gyna about length of time on it she states that its about quality of life ie not taking it and suffering sleep deprivation and all other menopause symptoms versus increased libido, clear head and no flushes etc. Re risks - I'm not overweight, hypertensive or have any other issues so i will continue taking it albeit its cost. I claim it on my health insurance which rebates $20 but $40 a month is a lot.
