Coreymass > My symptoms as I described them a few posts above are similar. I confirm I have Vitamin D deficiency as well. My CT scan was clear according to the GI next step is colonoscopy. I haven't done the breath test yet to check for SIBO but the stool analysis show that there is no imflamation or any coeliac or food alergies. I am a researcher as well, I am trying to find the solution to this like you. I reading papers journals books searching all over the web for answers but till now nothing.

my b-12 was also low.....the constant noises in stomach and discomfort in both right and left quadrants along with loose floating stools have me convinced it's something pancreas related......the only reason I'd hold hope it's not is my early fecal elastase test and my lipase and amylase levels came back normal.....i.hope they order some imaging soon.......stress and anxiety are doing no good

Hi, I'm shocked that even I'm 27 years of age. i have similar issues from many months. i have single bowel movement in a day and in first half its solid and later it gets mushy and i have been eating only veggies, fruits and rice. i even eat yogurt since it acts as probiotics. I'm not getting pain in any part of my body. its been months I pass mushy stools everyday. I stopped eating greasy, junk food and drink at least 4.5 ltrs of water everyday. my ultrasound test and blood tests are normal. Doctor suggests me to undergo colonoscopy but, why? when I'm not facing any pain in my lower abdomen. I have been doing yoga from last few months too. should it be treated as ibs ? should I undergo with colonoscopy? please suggest

same as everything above except include abdominal pain, and gassy.
Yeah they saying colonoscopy also.
Drink less than half of your water.
They saying CT Scan/Blood test/urine test seem normal. Didn't do colonoscopy.

I am 24 with the same issues. Loose, mushy stools everyday for the past few years, and lots of flatulence. I eat healthy, dont drink alcohol, dont smoke. Ive had many tests including a colonoscopy and two gastroscopies but doctors found nothing wrong with me. I have tried fiber, motility pills, probiotics, antibiotics, antiparasite pills, but to no avail. Its ruining my life and doctors cant seem to help.

I lost 22lbs in a month and a half. I have had these same types of problems since August 2021. Can't get into GI specialist until November. I am 34 years old so pretty much same as everyone here!

I have had multiple CT scans with and without iv dyes only showed multiple kidney stones. I only have a solitary left kidney so I also have mild hydronephrosis. I also have had H. pylori test came back as negative. Dr. placed me on protonix and yogurt 1 time daily. Protonix seemed to make me have liquid diarrhea. I have stopped taking the protonix for the last 2 days and tonight it was kinda solid. I have had pain alternating between left and right upper quadrants. Early in August I contracted Adenovirus and I am also immunocompromised so there is little medications that they can try with me. The Adenovirus darn near killed me, however I kicked its butt! If anyone can find a cure please let me know!

Hi Ruben,
what are your symptoms? Do you have any weight loss? were you in any medication before? like ppi's or antibiotics? How long is this been happening for you?
Thanks.

my problem has been going on for about a year now it's a constant knotting pain underneath my left rib cage in my abdominal area upper left quadrant. it has dramatically taken a toll on my life including work and family it constantly hurts and I don't have anything that provides relief. I haven't taken any medications because the doctors have yet to find anything I have had a upper endoscopy a colonoscopy exploratory surgery 4 MRI 4 CAT scans multiple blood work a HIDA scan, ultrasound, stool sample test and all test show negative. I have tried special diet avoided gluten avoided Dairy avoided many different things and nothing has changed I've even tried not eating but it still hurts... literally feel like I'm at the end of my rope

Even I had these kind of pain, but Drs advised me that it could be stress or anxiety related, since my tests came out clean aswell. I am not sure how stressed and anxious you are. If MRI, endoscopy, colonoscopy doesn't show anything. I believe you should be fine. I know it's easy to advise but that's exactly what I did to get relieved from my problems. I haven't recovered 100% but feeling better than before. By the way I still have pain but now its not constant.

I don't feel like I'm under stress anymore but I have been through a lot and and this pain is just making things worse. to the point where my wife is setting up appointments for me to speak with someone about it but I don't think that is the issue another symptom I forgot to mention is that in the area where I feel pain my intestines feel like they spasm and kick like I have a baby inside of me it's very odd feeling
ash1418 ruben3636

Correct me if I understood wrongly, I thought you had pain under your left rib cage, upper left quadrant right? if you have pain like feeling in intestines, it should be in lower abdomen, also that might be due to gas aswell, I believe the pain in intestine is not constant and kind like kick feeling which comes and goes right? If its the case, it might be due to gas, thats what my dr told me. do you feel gaseous?
ruben3636 ash1418

unfortunately it's not gas I have even tried gas medication and it doesn't work of course all that medication is over the counter though.
like I said it's very odd because it start to spaz out my wife thought it was my muscles at first but when I had a spasm I grabbed her hand and placed on the area pushing down really hard and she could even feel that it was not the muscle but it was much deeper.
also my stools are very inconsistent and they look very oily but / my doctors and stool test there's nothing wrong with them I occasionally have mucus and blood in my stool but the doctor said that that was normal yet I've never had these problems before.
the problem is is that it always hurts nothing gives it any relief I have one doctor try telling me I had IBS and I told him doesn't IBS come and go to which he replied yes you'll have good days and bad days to which I replied I have nothing but bad days it always hurt and never stopped hurting.
on a side note I really want to thank you for replying because I really have had very minimal people to talk to about it it really means a lot to me

where is the pain located ? Maybe something like a spasm or movement ? Is it all day or comes and goes ? Hm, about the blood, what kind of blood is it, dark or bright ? Keep on insisting about Calprotectin because it can give you a better image of what is going on. Yes, good days and bad days, i cant really get whats going on, because i pretty much eat one and the same thing but result is always different. I am on my nuts end because i already have another problem which bothered me long ago. PVCs...awful...Its called premature ventricular contractions of the heart and as if my heart is skipping a beat...its benign, but it feels very bad 😦 another problem ahead, as if this was not enough 😦((

No problem, I know how it feels especially when people think that either we are over reacting or worrying too much. Don't worry, You will be fine, Mucus in stool could be for various reasons like IBS, inflammation etc. But in your case, since you have said that you have done MRI and colonoscopy. Its kind of mystery. Did you took CRP, ESR test to see if there is any inflammation in your body, these are some of the tests which my Gastro did for me. But your dr might be aware of your situation well. There are possibilities like you might have structural problem.
Don't worry, I am there, you can talk to me any time. Since I can understand your situation very well. I have been there.
Thanks.

the pain is in my upper left abdominal quadrant and there is never no release and there is never no relief it's always hurting.
see blood in my stool is bright red every time I have seen it yes I understand lots of things can cause that but my stool is never consistent. and there is not always blood

thank you your words mean a lot to me because it's really hard to live my life and do my job. my job is already hard enough and it just makes it worse.
I haven't had any inflammation blood test or anyting of that nature to my knowledge my doctors have been very little help to be honest because every time eats doctor that I go to can't figure it out they just tell me oh well I got to live with it. which is a very hard pill to swallow because I don't like living like this. not saying I'm going to do anything crazy I'm just saying that if this is my new life well it's going to really suck

under the ribs is the colon, so its the colon that hurts you. if it is red blood ive heard it might be hemorrhoids, check this with your doctor.

I can understand how much of stress you are in due to this issue from reading your message, but don't lose hope, sometimes gut issues take lot of time to get fixed. In my case its almost 4 months, still its ongoing, one of my friend has pain for almost a year. what I really advise you is, tell your Dr that you need to find the cause of blood in your stool and pain, it could be hemorrhoids, but you need to get that confirmation from them. Please try to push your drs to find the cause, You cannot be going thru this pain for longtime. Ask them for tests to be carried out to see whether you have any inflammation in your intestines or in your body. Hope it get resolved soon and see you leading a stress and pain free life.
Please don't lose hope.
Thanks.
