I had bilateral thr in Oct and totally understand how you are feeling, I was 78/38 and every time they tried to get me to stand I felt like I was going to be sick or pass out. I wasn't able to stand for 3 days. After that I was off and running, do to speak! I will be 12 weeks on Monday and cannot remember feeling as good for years! Still get the odd pain here and there if I do too much, but I am working on getting my muscles stronger.

Don't worry Angie, everything will be fine xx smile

Mine dropped to 84/55 which seemed to send medical people into a frenzy. Over the course of a few days attached to drips and drinking copious amounts of fluids they got it up to 90/58 and sent me home. I'm still alive 14 weeks later so I'm guessing it's not a cause for concern.

Not nice feeling dizzy and sick but it gradually sorted itself out.

Good luck with your recovery xx

My blood pressure was so low I kept passing out.   I was on blood pressure tablets for high blood pressure...but they kept on giving them to me.  The consultant's stand in was so mad!  The last time I remember a nurse shouting, 'she's going'!

It is scary that was not a discussion with the Dr. My Dr held the BP medications based on those low BPs.Kinda scary there .Never passed out, smart nurses and Drs

    Hi Angie,

I had a RTHP done about 9 months ago and my bp was low for about 4 days after the surgery. They just put it down to a slow recovery after the anesthetic. With plenty of rest and food and drink it went back to normal. I hope yours does too.

Hi Angie - my BP went low too.  I was 70/40!  I wasn't sick or dizzy but they were really worried.  it came up to 90/70 after 3 days so they let me go home.  It stayed low for a couple weeks and now i'm back to normal.  I'm 13 weeks today and feel great.  Hang in there.....it'll get better and be so worth everything you are going through.

Mine was lower than normal, around 90/55. Usually I am around 126/78. It is caused by blood loss from the surgery, trauma and pain meds. It's will get back to normal and so will you. This is a marathon not a sprint. Best of luck

Angie love will you stop worrying. You will make yourself ill. I had to stop taking my bp meds for 6 weeks post op as my usually high bp was really low. Felt sick first time I was got up and dizzy so was put back to bed for a few hours. Then as long as I took a deep breath before I stood up was fine. Glad all your pre op worries were unfounded and good luck with your continued recovery xx

Hi Angie,It's Msky, had Rthr on 1/3.I too had low B/p It was 80-90sover 47-48,so yes really low.Had to use Oxygen the first night as my O2 saturation would drop to 85-86 % on Room air.I did not start taking my antihypertensive medication until about 8 days post op.Im going to keep an eye on that.I was having headaches prior to surgery and I'm not now. Some things are better. It really takes about a week to start to feel a little more normal.I walked our driveway today. It is a very long driveway.I walked It a couple of times. Also did the hallway and leg exercises. The hurt is a different hurt, different, seems more manageable and getting better. How are you beside the low B/P.Are They walking you in your room? How are you?How is your pain level?I know how nervous you were, was it as bad as you thought? Will be looking for you. Be well, get slerp

Hi Msky , sounds like you're doing as well as can be expected if not better you are quite inspirational I will follow your story and keep posting myself

I've asked for pain meds to be reduced as I feel too sedated , I have been to stairs and did ok but physio said I must try not to swing through crutches flat futted , it' seems more painful than last time but I guess I wasn't weight baring on this newly operated leg for 4 month so muscle layers be weak , physio said be prepared for rollercoaster which I suppose forewarned is forearmed eh

Just been for X-ray so might be going home later !

Re my anxiety pre op , looking back it went smooth as before and still nipping myself to realise I did it , I thought of you just before and thought how brave you were and didn't want to fail myself , so Thankyou for encouragement and keep in touch 🌺🌷🌹

Angie did I tell you that I am a nurse and Lactation Consultant? I deal with blood loss daily so let me tell you a couple things I learned.Try coconut water ,it has an osmolarity that is similar to blood. It tells your body that it has a greater circulating fluid volume. If you mix pineapple juice with the coconut water it taste very good. The medics of Hawaii taught the mainland medics about the blood expansion properties of coconut water during Pearl Harbor.I saw this on the science and history channel on the same day. They can't both be making this up.The Doula's I worked with used it with Their patients during and after birth.I will tell you it has really helped my patients with milk production.. Bone soup really helps to.Its about you increasing your circulating volume so when you stand up you have fluid in your brain. You can also try electrolyte water .Im not sure if you have Gatorade in your neck of the woods but you probably have an equivalent. Hope you feel better.

That's very sweet Angie, thank you.Hsve a great day.We are watching football today.A nice day.Remember what I said about bone soup building up your blood .Did they do a hemoglobin and hematocrit prior to you being discharged.Just winderingif they were borderline low.I live in the Rocky Mountains so if your blood levels are low it's hard to adapt.High altitude affects oxygen ebsorption from the blood so if your blood is low in RBC you get dizzy here.Thats why I literally do dietary teaching with all my patients.I was told by ladies that do F /U visits that we have the highest 6 week breastfeeding rates then we have ever had.I think it's all the teaching being. done including diet to support a strong milk supply
