Lower back issues

Posted , 11 users are following.

Had problems with lower back for over 40 years.

Having an assessment this Thursday at hospital. Bad lower back and burning pain on rear upper legs when sitting and tail bone pain. Hoping to get an MRI scan at some point. Taking dual pain killers daily and a diazepam occasionally as doc said it would help relax the muscles there.

Will report back after I been to hospital.

I have heard from a lot of people whose doctors prescribe them diazepam as a muscle relaxer. I could never understand it because although it does have a muscle relaxant qualities to it, it is a narcotic and one that if you become dependent on it, it is a very serious withdrawal. One that has to happen in the hospital because you can die from the withdrawal symptoms. The other thing is that diazepam causes reduced breathing and so does opiates. So taking them both can cause danger with oxygen depletion. There are so many good muscle relaxers out there that the doctors could choose from. It just makes me wonder why they pick diazepam over a muscle relaxer.

I take diazapam very sparingly I must add because it is so highly addictive, I have tried others with no effect and find diazapam seems to be the only thing that works, I won't take it for more than 3 days at a time, I will be asking my doc about soma next time I see him😊

Even Soma can be addictive but if you take the pills according to doctor prescription it won't cause any side-effects and addictions.Do let me know what your doctor says.
