Lower back pain

Hi I just wondered if anybody in their first few months of Peri menapause have had any joint pains in their lower back and knuckles. I wake up sometimes with it or if I am shopping for long periods of time it comes on. It is not painful just very stiff and annoying. I saw my GP who put me on HRT which really has improved so many symptoms and very happy with it except for bloating which I hope just settled down over next few months. The GP said my spine was fine and thinks it is probably just muscular and probably all fits in with peri menapause! Just crazy how us woman have to go through all these horrendous symptoms and have to adapt to them. This time of life for women over 50 we know have to go through all this but why is it such a taboo subject and shouldn't be!!!! Some women are even younger than 50 going through this which is totally unfair!

But I forgot to mention that when my back pain acts up, from a car accident I had a few years ago I soak in the tub or splash myself with Epsom Salts. The Magnesium heals all muscle pains. I do this for 2 or 3 days in a row, then they say to do it just once a week. It truly does work. But doctors won't tell you to use it  because there's no money in it for them. Even my acupuncturist said it by mistake, if you put a little magnesium on your skin it should help with the pain, but then he crunch his face like saying, oops I opened my big mouth. I haven't gone back since.

When I was young my Grandmothers and a lot of pages I visited always had a jar of bath salts and always put some in the bath before they got in.

I have wondered if they were made of magnesium.

I have googled to try and find out but too many are posts about bath salts that were/are some drug people take.

I wouldn't mind betting that was what was in them and somehow we have forgotten about them now.

Yes, angie, many remedies of the old days have been forgotten. Espom salt soaks is one of them but I know many people who have not forgotten about them remind me to soak in it once in awhile. Since I'm not big on sitting a tub of water, I use a bowl add a cup of Espom salt mix it with hot water and soak my body with the mix. I rub it all around, wait a minute for it to soak into my skin and pat dry. I immediately felt it the first time use it. My body felt a shock of something that I was missing. Try it if you have back pain, not too often but 1-3 times only the first week. The pain will go away then just once a week after that. I buy the big 5lb bag at the pharmacy. Hope this helps, xx

Did you know you can use it in a foot bath and still get the benefits just by doubt that?

I don't pay too much for mine at a pharmacy. I only but it there if I'm going to ingest some (pharmaceutical quality).

If I just want it to bathe in I get it from a garden centre which is much cheaper.
