Lower blood pressure with panic attacks ?

Posted , 6 users are following.

So I used to do a lot of sports and that also makes my blood pressure a bit lower then average when I rest. My doctors said that this is all fine, healthy and not really dangerous.

But what I noticed is that during my panic attacks my blood pressure starts to drop even more and then I get in this cycle where I look at my blood pressure and I get even more anxious. I measure again and it gets even lower. I get scared to death and feel like im going to faint. Before I didn't measure my pressure during my panic attacks but lately I was interested to see what is happening with my pressure during attacks. When I kinda calm myself down my blood pressure rises again a little bit.

I thought it was interesting since most people get high blood pressure. I read about this a little bit and I heard that in fact it can happen. Anybody else with this ? Any ideas on whether that is alright ?

Mine said same also. do you have a fast heart rate? mine are above 100 somtimes reaches to 120 beats sad. Have been given beta blocker since 3 days. am kinda ok, but the dizziness still there a little. Do you have ear problems?

Well I haven't monitored my heart a lot. I've tested myself last two day a little bit. My heart rate was not too high. I think it was towards 90 but I dont remember. But i had worse panic attacks where im pretty sure it was more than 100 for sure.

Im just really scared because of my dizziness. Even if i get a bit better my dizziness is always there sad Idk how to not be anxious when you feel "high" in a bad way all the time.

I do not have ear problems. My docs checked almost every part of my body actually.

I really hope it is just anxiety.

I also wish you all the best to you too. Anxiety can really be a living hell.

Low blood pressure is only of concern if you are seriously injured and bleeding.

And if you're in hospital with something else serious.

In a healthy person like yourself, low blood pressure is normal. Mine's always been low. It's never bothered me.

What IS bothering me is that you keep taking yours! Whatever for? And I see with alarm that Rachna is planning to monitor hers from today. Nobody needs to check their blood pressure all the time, unless your doctor has told you to, for a specific medical reason. Obsessively checking it is just a waste of time!

Sorry, Rachna, I misunderstood you. Apologies.

But possibly that explains to Happyguy that it's only necessary when a doctor tells you to.

HAPPYDAYS!!  I'm sorry you're still feeling so anxious. Stick with us and post again soon to tell us how you are, so that we can support you. I hope you weren't offended by my first message.

All the best to Rachnabiggrin and Happyguycheesygrin   from Tess xxxxxxxx

No I did not take it bad but its true that when you monitor verything in general you tend to be more anxious. best of luck

I had to quit monitoring my pulse and blood pressure because it would make it rise more and more.

My blood pressure also rises when taken. It can get so high, just thinking of taking it makes it go up. I don't think my doctor believes, so gets concerned about readings, but I'm not.
