Lump feeling and gurgling in throat when swallowing

Since I had an endoscopy four months ago I have had a lump sensation and tightness in my throat on and off and now for the past few days I experience a gurgling sensation when I swallow at first it was just when i swallowed water immediately after it would feel like air gurgling up but now it’s also when I swallow saliva. It seems to go away when I lay down. It feels like an air bubble or burp is stuck in my throat. I’ve been on nexium for six weeks due to acid reflux but it doesn’t help with these symptoms. I also get pressure in my ears when this happens. Also this all started four months ago when I woke up with extreme pressure below my breastbone that caused me a lot of panic and I was unable to eat anything because of the discomfort. The pressure isn’t as bad in chest now but the lump in throat is bad and I don’t know if they are related like the pressure moved up into my throat. I also get burning pains and tenderness in my upper back and shoulder blades and sometimes feel it while I’m eating and drinking not afterwards. Has anyone had these symptoms and was it something other then acid reflux and did it finally go away? I’m really feeling depressed and hopeless that I will have to live like this for the rest of my life.

Thank you for posting. I'm new here. I am suffering from this lump feeling too for the last few weeks. Just recently it is worse at night. I dont have a sore throat. I dont have a cough. This lump feeling in my throat and a lot of gurgling occurs as well as lots of back pain. I was rushed to the ER 3 weeks ago with what I thought was a heart attack, even though I had no chest pain. I left there feeling silly because they said it was probably just anxiety. My ck mm levels were high which suggested I have a muscle injury that I either received in a car accident or from being an athlete. My doctor got me to repeat the blood work and its still high. I go again in 3 weeks to see where those levels are and is testing me for autoimmune diseases. I have no idea if this is connected to my throat feeling, but the doctor ended up giving me panto and scopolamine to try and see if that helps with this sensation and back pain. This shoulder blade pain has been going on for over a year. I am stressed. We have had a lot of family issues going on with one being my mom was just put in a nursing home.....among many other stressors. I'm 48 and thought menopause was over, but now I'm having hot flashes and just the feeling of being unwell.

Can anyone give me any advice as to what this could be? I hope its just stress and anxiety. How do you all deal with this? Thank you

Anxiety can definitely make you feel a lump in your throat and it can be a vicious cycle. My lump feeling eventually went away however I convinced myself that it was due to a tonsil stone in the back of my throat rather then that i had silent reflux which can also cause thAt and for some reason mentally it made me less concerned so i stopped being as anxious which also contributed to the lump feeling worse especially at night time. the doctor said i possibly could have something called Eagle's syndrome which is where your styloid process bone can stick through the back of your throat. it actually appears calcified on an xray and i still have a hard lump feeling on one spot on my right tonsil and its not a tonsil stone. but my throat no longer feels tight like its closing up so i have learned to deal with it.

My symptoms started Jan 2021. i started waking up full of air in my stomach which eventually stated moving up my chest. it felt like i was having a heart attack. In addition I have difficulty burping and feel like i have a hairball in my throat. Once I can burp I get some relief but then the air comes right back and this last all day long and gets worse at night. it takes anywhere from one minute to an hour before I can burp. I feel the sensation that I have to burp and feel the air moving up my esophagus. Ive had an xray, ultrasound of my abd, EGD, barrium swallow, manometry, CTA of my aorta, Echocardiogram, and I've also seen a pulmonologist. Ive had a biopsy of my esophagus and stomach which was negative for cancer and H pylori. All the other test were normal other than a small hiatal hernia. My symptoms have gotten worse in that my neck, shoulders, and upper back hurts when i can't get the air out of my chest. ive been put on protonix twice a day, pepcid daiy, and carafate. My GI doctor alao put me on bentyl for esophageal spasm which help a little with the pain but not from the Continuous production of gas in my chest/esopghagus. Ive tried gas x, mylanta, gaviscon, peppermint oil, chamomille tea but nothing helps!! Other symptoms followed such as bloating, distention. All these symptoms cause me anxiety and has decreased my quality of life. can anyone shed some light?
