Maca Root supplements

I ordered a bottle of Maca Root supplements and am awaiting the shipment. In the interim, I read a review of the supplement from two individuals that said it raised their blood pressure. Have any of you ladies who have taken this experienced an increase in BP? I read on a website somewhere that Maca actually lowers BP so I don't know what to believe. Any thoughts?

I have been taking maca for about 2 months( had peri symtoms bad) and I took it to help with heart palpitaions, hot flashes and thyroid levels. My thyroid went from a 12 to a 7 to a 1.27 after taking maca. My heart palpitions stopped and my anxiety ( which was Horrible) was so much better! The only thing I did different was take maca. I only took 1 pill at first, then 2 a day. Then 4 a day, and now I take one. This maca you can take 8 caps. I cannot imagine taking that much. My breast are tender on and off, nothing painful, but noticable. I had my daughters take it (one cap to help balance there hormones) they also had sore breasts and 3 friends that also took it and they had sore breasts and had there period so off. My question is why the soreness? and I read this one article that said she got breast cancer from taking maca. I feel that so far it has been the best thing for me, but just wondering about the soreness ?.

I tried Maca root capsules a while back but stopped taking it after like a week because I discovered it's dangerous for you take if you have uterine fibroids.

As far as it causing breast tenderness, my guess is that Maca acts like estrogen once it's metabolized in the body and increased estrogen causes breast tenderness. Hope this helps.
