finally here. So excited it's unreal!

Nurse just came in. I'm second on the list. smile

taken 4 lots of blood and urine sample. Something I've never had done before at a pre op! Oh and they didn't have any appointments between last Monday and now for pre-op so said they would do it when I got here! Can't fault service at all!

All the the nurses are exceptionally happy, polite and caring.

Cant no wait to start a new chapter in my life now!

Hi john, having a microdisectomy l5/s1 as I have nerve root compression. I get pain on my right hand side of my back too which he has warned me I may end up living with. I'm hoping for 50% pain relief or more. So I can't get off the morphine.

James they are so through they sent one lot of my blood tests back because lab. Could not make out a letter on the test tube. I was interviewed by about 4 different people pre-op. Everything is taken care of. Enjoy the sleep you are about to have a better future - keep me posted on how things go. You maybe in pain for 1st 24 hours don't panic you should you mobility back very quickly after that.

    Good luck.

Hi Nick, pain is a little less than yesterday. Can walk a little easier, not too far though.

Most of my pain is in getting from seated position to upright, then while walking

      Hi Enna,

Well, I'm not going to lie, it was hell.

the local anesthetic barely worked. I screamed the hospital down in paint they had to stop the procedure before I passed out. He turned to me and said obviously the level of pain your in isn't going away with an injection!

Having seen the surgeon last week, and him telling me just how bad it was, it makes sense why I was in so much pain with the injection and they couldn't do it.

    James

I had this done last March, it's incredibly scary yet exciting.

When you wake up it'll be pretty surreal so just make sure you do what you're told

Well done James - just going to ask what John asked....Looks like they have cleaned up their act since I last was there but it was a long long time.   I had decompression at \l4/5 and L3/4 but Valencia have said that it would be too dangerous for anything else and he says that it all about scar tissue.  Scar tissue, I can't make it all out.  Micro - must have come in since I had my decompression 6 years ago as I have a long scar on my back.  Everyone is different and just because you are having this op doesn't mean me or anyone else can have it done. But we will see, I know there are a lot more people worse than me so won't go on I just feel that my PCT in Cumbria could have done a lot for me before I came to Valencia and that I needn't have parted with £7000 for the op.  Good luck James. can't wait for you to come back and let us know how you got on.
