Major intolerance to heat

Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone has also developed an intolerance to heat? (Artifical heat mainly)
I'm experiencing many awful symptoms on and off throughout the day and night but as soon as I walk into a stuffy/poorly ventilated or overheated place (can be a car, bus, office, shop, bank etc) within minutes I'm overcome by the awful dizziness anxiety trembling feeling fatigue shortness of breath and tightness in my chest feelings.
I can have a relatively good day, feeling good and positive like yes I can get through this menopause then on same day I can walk in a hot shop and within seconds I feel totally awful and scared by the rush of all these symtoms at once and if I stay in such a place for too long it takes hours for my system to calm down again. I'm on HRT which stopped the hot flushes/sweats but I still get this major issue...for a year and a half now (as well as other issues)
I wondered if anyone else experiences this issue with heat?

Yes yes yes !! I'm not on HRT but have become to hate warmth in a room... the stuffiness sends my anxiety soaring ... hubby doesn't get it and it drives him mad. I can't stand to turn the heat up on the house and always opening a window to let a cool breeze come in.

My boyfriend doesn't get it either. It's worse at work as mainly men..because I don't look sick on the outside colleagues don't get it...I feel like I'm probably the joke of the office because of the lengths I go through not to overheat!. I've nearly left but then thinking where ever I go will have the same issue. I think i need to run a business and work from from home permanently!. Ps Just had to go to vet to pick up our rabbit...it was hot and now I feel diabolical

Second that! Would love to see employers take this more seriously...sure many have lost talented ladies because of this...in the meantime it's human torture for us!

Hi Maris
I get that bloated feeling and then like I'm breathless . But it's because I have to much wind in my stomach . And it pushes up against your diaphragm and chest and your lungs don't have enough space.I find if I go for a walk even if it's only around the garden . It pushes the wind out and feel so much better . I've done this when I felt out of breath and I'm like a steam engine blowing off steam. Such a relief

HI mariso106794. I had to respond back to your post I'm having some of those issues you have mention above..I can get a kind of good sleep but still wake up sleepy myself and miserable, going into the shops was big thing for me I just couldn't stay still in the queues and my heart would pound and I will shake and panic I would get what I can and run straight home it was even worst when my mum was around because I had to go out because she was sick and I dread it at the funeral Anixety was killing me I had force myself to just sit there and pretend everything was ok it felt weird couldn't wait to get home couldn't grieve properly...my hotflashes/cold flashes has dye down a bit thank god but they always come back to bite
you mention also bloating my tummy look about 5 months wether it's that or fat I don't know..we will get through this it's hard but with God at our sides he will get us out of it, he made our bodies so he knows what is happening and I'm sure it's not for ever ((((((Hugs)))))

I take valsartan 160mg and hctz12.5mg. I don't always know whether some of the symptoms I'm having are being caused by my meds or by peri menopause. It's frustrating!

I have chia seeds in my smoothie every morning. I dont have hot flashes any longer, I am in HRT but I am so heat intolerant and I sweat like crazy which I never have in the past. I am 16 years post menopause and it is so frustrating! Weight does not come off. I am very healthy otherwise and take no medication. I have gained 20 pounds for no reason other than menopause is mean.

Yes, I've experienced heat intolerance with similar symptoms, even while on HRT. It's frustrating, as it can disrupt daily life and trigger anxiety. I've found relief by using cooling strategies and avoiding overheated places when possible.
