I haven't. I heard it has the benefits for people with anxiety. I just don't know how to start.

Nope...been there done that for over 20 years. The only thing that works for me is a combination of medications and regular therapy. There are things you can do that might help but for me they don't cut it. Try EVERYTHING!!! You can look up ways to treat anxiety or cope with anxiety or natural remedies for anxiety. There is a ton of stuff out there. Things like aromatherapy, yoga and other exercise, meditation, massage, breathing exercises, diet (what foods to avoid), herbal remedies, adult coloring books, writing in a journal, and so much more. I suggest that you try them all, everyone is different and you never know what might work for you. Also if they don't, talk to your psychiatrist about medication options. There is nothing wrong with taking medicine for a disease you have if the medication actually works and you are taking it like your doctor orders you to. Just make sure you ask questions and voice your concerns and always follow your doctors instructions. Best of Luck!!!

I want to do it without meds. I fight so hard for it. It's just i read that being on the meds has too many side effects. Especially when we need to decrease the dose. Long time ago i was forced to take xanax with very low dosage because i couldn't stay asleep. I only take 3 times and it was for night only. I didn't take take them again. I wonder if there are someone who's really fully recovered from anxiety

Currently not on anything unfortunately, lost my insurance and can't afford it on my own YAY for the american healthcare system!!! I have tried just about everything but what actually worked best for me was clonazepam (klonopin), escitalopram (lexapro) , amitriptyline (elavil), and alprazolam (xanax) for emergencies/panic attacks. All of these I took at the lowest dosages and only as my doctor prescribed. I have NEVER had any withdrawl issues or issues with addiction. I was on xanax for over 10 years, actually taking it WRONG yet as prescribed by my doctor. The problem with medications is when people start to adjust dosages themselves or stop and start at random without consulting their doctor. So the best place for you to start is by asking your doctor what he/she thinks your best medication option(s) are. I was given the amitriptyline because I had a lot of trouble sleeping and I have widespread pain and it is used for treating people with fibromyalgia as well as for problems with sleep and anxiety and depression. It took my a long time to find a doctor that I liked, that treated me like a person that mattered and not just a number. That is probably the hardest part of all this. Remember you are the only one that has to live in your body and you are the only one who truly knows how you feel so don't be afraid to tell your doctor if something isn't working for you, you might need a different dosage or you might need to add another med, or you might need to change to something completely different. I was very anti med when I first started having these symptoms over 20 years ago, I still do not take anything I don't feel I need or that doesn't work for me, like most pain meds. They just don't really do anything for me except make me feel weird and I already have enough issues feeling weird as it is LOL. Also make sure you give a medicine a fair trial, you can't take something for 2 days and expect to feel cured, you need to give it a couple weeks UNLESS you are having some sort of horrible adverse reaction to it. But again always follow doctors orders for starting or stopping a medication to avoid any issues. Again, best of luck to you!!!

I have been on just about every medication there is...I have NEVER had any kind of horrible horror story side effects or withdrawls. I have quit xanax cold turkey after 10 years in my system...didn't have a problem really. I was already having panic attacks and anxiety so them being worse when I stopped was a no brainer. Xanax is a great medication but it is supposed to be a rescue medication, one you take when you feel you are on the verge of a full blown panic attack. It is a short acting medication, which means it works quickly to calm you down and hopefully stop that panic attack BUT it doesn't last long in your system, which is why a lot of times people take more than they are supposed to. They are trying to use it improperly. Clonazepam (klonopin) is the perfect solution to this problem, it basically is the same thing as xanax except it is longer acting. Which means it lasts longer to keep you on a more even keel. I took one in the morning and one at night at the lowest dose. I ONLY had xanax for emergencies, when I felt like I was going to call for an ambulance or run down the street screaming. When I was on the clonazepam, amitriptyline, and escitalopram I probably took a total of a dozen xanax in the 3 year time period. That is all I needed to take it. My anxiety was mostly under control without it. Now again I say all this to try to put your mind at ease about medication but I know that everyone is not going to have the same experience as I did. I know that the medications I took may not work for you at all. Just know that you don't have to be so afraid of trying them, especially if it can make you feel like a "normal" functional human being again. It is something you need to discuss in depth with your doctor/medical team and make choices that will work best for you. Remember you have the final say, it is your body, your choice. Good Luck!!!

Simplest solution for anxiety (without medicine) is to handle your mind. Keeping your mind busy and being confident. Trust me, this advice may make you puke , you will say oh please I know you have to control mind and do this do that don't focus on anxiety etc etc .. but that's the only solution if you want to remove it. And here's the fact , this is the ultimate solution for anxiety and not medicine, but because people like us who have anxiety are over conscious about everything , we just can't do it without medicine (at least that's what we think ) but yes it's not impossible. If you try harder or anyone having anxiety for that matter try harder to control their mind they , you anyone can do it , it's very easy to control your mind and remove anxiety if you teach your brain to function in a specific way which only you will know because you know what's causing anxiety in your life. G'luck.

You're right. It's controlling our mind is what important. Health anxiety always makes me think the worst. Ever since i had this little procedure on my breast, i became very anxious. Every tiny ache on my body makes me worry. This anxiety hampered my confidence. I'm jobless because i'm afraid i'm not good enough to work. Health anxiety is the worst!

Yes it makes me feel warm and I feel like off balance all the time mostly walking. My doc has advised me to walk daily but I don't go outside because of that feeling but yes sometimes I tell myself how long you'll stay home ? Is this really how you wanna live your life ? And I just push myself to go outside , I call myself a loser and than I just get fired up and go outside for little period of time lol. You should try calling yourself a coward too and try to prove yourself that you are not the one. And yes take sunlight. Sun is very very important when it comes to anxiety. 15-20 or 30 minutes of sun everyday and you will thank me in a week cause it gives you immediate results. Try going out in sun. Trust me.

I manage anxiety without medication. I had workers but they caused me more stress, and supported housing that also caused me more stress which resulting in me being given peroxatine along with amisulpride. I decided to do gardening and writer's circles instead and when the bad workers went and the bad housing went the doctor said that I didn't need the tablets any more.

I’ve had anxiety my whole life and recently it hs turned into severe health anxiety. I don’t take medication nor have I done therapy (I heard therapy works) but I do take Vitamin D in the morning (Midwest not a lot of sunlight during winter) and during the day I take magnesium, and a couple hours before bed I take b-complex or I take B12. I watch YouTube videos about therapy and techniques. I reach out to my family members for reasurrence. I take deep breathes and count to 4. And I try to tell myself “I don’t care” if it starts getting  overwhelming of the fear of dying I try to tell myself “I don’t care”. Only sometimes this works. I also make sure I know my triggers and I avoid them. Best of luck to you(:

So multivitamins are important right? I very rarely going outside during the day so i guess i lack of vitamin d. I should've taken more vitamins. I'm very skinny and very picky when it comes to eat something. I also eat in small portion too. It's just how i eat since forever. And i was fine. But now somehow i feel fragile and unhealthy.

I eat Flora margarine spread. It is a good source of vitamin D. I also go to the park in spring and summer. I like vegan food and vegan chocolate because it isn't too heavy and starchy. I only become unhealthy in a rough area where there is a lot of street crime and stay in more. The street crime got worse in the summer and I stayed in. When I walked in the right places and ate the right food I felt better.
