Medical opinion about using borax?
Posted , 16 users are following.
Hi there, people on this site are reporting good results about the use of diluted borax. When I mentioned this to my specialist she was critical and advised strongly against. Does anyone have more positive experience of a doctor being encouraging about the use of borax? Every best wish.

Also doctors have widespread opinions, I'm sure. My doctors however say: Keep doing what you're doing. All looks very good. What am I doing - baking soda or borax baths every other day; rinsing after most bathroom visits with borax water. Very seldom do I use clob. For lubrication coconut oil. Dilation twice a week. A drop of estrogen topical every morning and progesterone capsule in the evening. And then there is my diet: no added sugar, no alcohol, no gluten, no caffeine, limited dairy. Healthy meals, no packaged food.
?Important is also, in my opinion, that you keep observing self and think for yourself.

You cant listen to most of the so-called specialists as they don't know themselves.
You have to be your own advocate for this disease, unfortunately.

Anyways, just your posts have helped women. You have been through the worst of LS and come out a survivor with your careful maintenance plan.
This is why for me it is far better to listen to people that have LS and have experienced the worst of it, you gain so much more information.

Thank you Guppy for your encouraging words. Indeed, I too have learned that it is important that a person keeps thinking independently from 'what doctor says'. Pay attention to how your body reacts to 'treatment'.
?I wish I had this attitude earlier in life. Through trial and error I got 'wiser'. You yourself need to become an active part in the process of healing.

Hi there j...
I was only recently diagnosed, I'm 72 now, but I learned about Boron/Borax maybe 8 years ago. There is so much misperception about it. I remember reading one article - from a chemist... who explained that Boron is about (? do I remember) about 1,000 times LESS toxic than table SALT. I've just joined this group so my apologies if you all know this already. I am 72 and was just diagnosed with this - well and I also self-diagnosed it a few weeks ago. Before I could get an appointment yesterday i was determined to take take things under control asap. I found the story of a young woman whose naturopath told her to take Vitamin D. Another forum also mentioned acupuncture. Oh my god! I felt SO much better within 2 or 3 days... apparently Vitamin D is also considered a hormone. I've been taking 15,000 a day (three chewables) until this thing is resolved. YOu milage may vvary, but my reading so far seens to indicate strongly that westerm trained medical doctors don't know how to help this illness - THAT is totally unacceptable to me! Go to an acupuncturist or naturopath or an integrative medicine person.

I recently saw my gynecologist. She too said something about borax and also baking soda. She stated it has no heath benefits and no data to support that it does any good. But! She then went on to talk about how she offers the PRP therapy (which is not covered by insurance) to me if I was interested. I really believe these "specialists" are totally in it for the money. The borax baths are helping a lot of women. Read on because you will see it everywhere o
n here and other sites.
All the best!

Oh Maggie, I'm so glad you asked that. I might have forgotten to "turn over every stone". I put PRP Therapy in a google tab and found out that it means Platelet-rich Plasma therapy, injectible blood platelets... But, maybe even if we didn't want to go that route - the key operative words that I learned was "Soft tissue healing" . Cool - s I put that in google and found a site, San Diego Center for Health that has a page on the nutritional requirements for healing our SOFT TISSUES smile - i.e. skin and sensitive labia etc. check it out, see what you need.. I just added a vitamin C to my health food store list today.

Hi Jo
My doctor is a dermatology specialist and treats many, many women with LS. She said that I look really good and asked me what I was using. I nearly didn't tell her but she was so nice that I did. She took the link 'An Experiment with Borax' and read the whole thread. She was so impressed that she's going to suggest it to her other patients and said 'When I get LS this is what I'm going to use myself.'
And yes that wasn't a typo. She says it's so common that she's expecting that she will get it herself. She is angry at the ignorance of doctors and the isolation that many women feel when they think they have a 'rare' condition.
Hope that helps

Thank you Bridge of Sighs, that's really helpful - and thank you to everyone else for taking the trouble to comment. Best regards, Jo
