I have been using it for perimenopause, due to my high estrogen and low progesterone. It did help initially with my sleep, GI symptoms, and mood swings, but after about 2 months, the effects lessened, and I now take DIM for days 1-14 and Prometrium days 15-28. This seems to work fairly well for me.

    Hi Pat,

Both my husband and I are on DIM. We are both on hormone replacement. For women it balances our estrogen and for men it keeps their testosterone from converting to estrogen. No problems with taking it but I've never taken it without being on hormone replacement. My general doc wasn't into the hrt either and I got myself a new doctor. I went with a former MD that turned holistic and its been a wonderful change. We really have to take charge of our own health. Doctors are so overwhelmed with patients and they have only been taught a small tid bit on menopause in med school. They are living by the old school, hrt is bad and haven't updated. Yes, synthetic hrt is bad but bio identical is actually beneficial to both men and women. Good luck.

I have been taking DIM Detox for a few years now. My naturopathic doctor recommended it to me. I didn't see a difference when I started so I stopped it and then realized during the next cycle how much it was helping.
