Menopause! Fatigue, crying, aching, nauseous, headaches

Posted , 121 users are following.

Sitting here crying...... again! Feeling awful.  Woke up this morning feeling nauseous and aching legs.  Went for a run on Monday.  Still recovering.  Had hoped to go again yesterday but felt awful.  Tired all the time.  Anxious about everything.  Putting on weight but can't stop eating.  Had various tests - all ok, including colonoscopy and mammogram.  Worried myself silly in the run up to Christmas ..... Virtually read myself the last rights.  Have no confidence.    Awful temper.  Nagging....... Sick of hearing myself rant on to my 12 year old son.  What will help.  I've read about B6, is B-50 worth a try (Holland and Barrett)?

Well this has been a year ago but I am in complete denial and I can't cope! I am only 31 and my dr said I was menopausal my fsh levels are at 40. 😳 I need some advice on how to deal with this. I only have 2 boys. My husband and I come from small families and wanted to try for another baby and we can't anymore. 😟 I always feel tired and I can't sit for too long or my legs will feel cramped up and have a hard time standing up. I have gained weight. On my belly and thighs it's so horrible.

Wow so glad I seen this. I feel like I'm losing my darn mind and going crazy. I'm so moody, my whole body hurts all the time. I started having migraines about 3 weeks ago out of nowhere. My Anxiety is constant now and I've noticed I'm a lil depressed here lately. I'll be 42 in March and my Dr thinks I'm to young for Peri Menopause or Menopause!! Makes me mad because something is clearly wrong with me. My periods are non existent almost. I think ive had 2 this year. I have tingling in my hands, legs and feet. Hair on my chin, dry skin, hair thinning. My ObGyn talked me into getting the Mirena which was a horrible 5 day idea because on Day 5 I went to Er and had it removed because of severe back pain and bad stomach cramps and it made my Anxiety worse. I just recently found out that I'm Estrogen dominant so I'm trying to figure out a way to get that balanced out. My ObGyn wants me to start taking Progesterone but I'm scared because I've heard bad things about it. Does anyone have any info how to get me right again!??

This is my first forum reply to this peri- menopause issue....I will be 45 in Feb. I had a hysterectomy in 2015 but still have one ovary, obviously I have not had a period in a little over a year, however, reading everything I can possibly read and all the symptoms related to this horror we woman have to go through, I've deduced this is what my problem is. As far as symptoms I-- also feel debilitating nausea and pains where i didn't know I could have pains, the dizziness, headaches, extreme anxiety, beer belly syndrome, I call it and weight gain in general, can't look at it with out gaining weight, my hot flushes or flashes I can deal with for the most part, I just wonder if anyone can relate to feeling like you are going to mentally lose it and belong in a nut farm or something, I get this overwhelming dizzy, faint and like a hot or cold feeling that feels like is just under my scalp or in my brain, that is what makese feel like I'm literally going nuts, I am not irritable, I rage and lash out ( my poor boyfriend), I know there are 66 symptoms and I have them all except for the ones that include a period or bleeding of any sort...I take stress tabs and it helps , but I am tired of being told that this not my problem because I still have an ovary and I am not in my 50's, men should not be dealing with this precise female issue, been tested for all other scenarios and all normal, I am disgusted and feel like I'm being swallowed by inevitable dark hole of peri-menopause , having real hard times dealing.

I totally understand. I started getting symptoms at 39 but didn't really understand what was good no on for a couple of years. I'm now 43 and seem to be in the small percentage of women who have really bad perimenopuase symptoms. I had blood tests and multiple EKGs and thought I was dying! My hot flashes are preceded by bad nausea, a tight feeling in my head and dizziness. That still scares me and often puts me into a panic attack. I have regular nausea and food aversions as well that come and go. Headaches and weird body aches have also been quite regular. I haven't found anything that works to fix everything but knowing that other women suffer the same thing and then trying to focus on that during one of my "attacks" seems to help a bit. Hang in there!

Was told i wasn't perimenapausal last year but periods have gone from (flooding) every month to virtually "normal"!! Hips , legs aching aswell as lower back pain. Knackered all the time. Light flushing now and again. Bloated stomach. I'm worried it could be something more serious. I'm 48

    Hi ladies,

I'm new to this site, but I am so grateful to have found it!  I'm 53 (considered very young looking but feel 90!) and I too would say that I have almost every symptom mentioned on these posts, including crashing fatigue, nausea, severe aching everywhere(especially my upper back/neck/shoulders, which really gets me down), severe anxiety/feelings of doom that wake me at night etc etc.....and I am so grateful to have found out that I am not alone and that many of these things may be 'normal'.....who'd be a woman!!

Bless each and every one of you for posting- I feel so much better for reading them smile

    Hello

I am now going through menopause, been through fatigue, dizziness, vertigo, and now keeping feeling like i have a cold or flu. Went to the doctors about these symptoms. No pressure problems, no pnuemonia, or other issues.  Im just tired of feeling sick. Thanks for all the ladies stories about menopause.  52 and tired of different symptoms.

Lesley I'd be careful what supplements you buy coz I got the smallest ones I could find attached Holland n Barrett, but because of some nausea later that day I couldn't swallow them !!!

Maybe shop around, or consider effervescent tablets if available.

Anyway its just a suggestion. 😊

Hello, just joined after reading everyone's stories. I'm 47 periods are still as regular as clockwork but I get really hot sometimes, have put on tonnes of weight, feel nauseous and my breasts are sore for , quite often, two weeks before I get my period. During that time I also get headaches and will cry at just about anything! Could I be perimenopausal even if I'm still getting periods? Hope someone has an idea...😊

Hi Andrea, I'm 46, feeling about as awful as you and I also get terrible kidney pain. I'm still having regular periods but gone from 7 days to 3 days. I've diagnosed myself with just about everything! But from reading through peri symptoms, apparently health anxiety is high on list. I'm due to have blood test this week so I'll let you know how it goes. I do believe it's perimenopause we're suffering with, and from what all these ladies are saying we've joined a very big club. At least finding this has convinced me I'm not a Raving lunatic hypochondriac xx

I just happened to find this site. I am 43 and I have just about all the same symptoms as everyone else I have been reading about. I still get periods but they are not regular. I have had severe anxiety lately. I feel nauseated a lot anymore, and will cry at almost anything. Is 43 to early to be going through menopause? I feel like I'm losing my mind... Help...

You sound just like me! I went to my gp and was told everything is perfectly normal!🙄 I've started taking maca capsules and evening primrose oil along with my usual flax seed oil and Hawthorne tablets and I'm feeling a lot better lately. My gp said that the longer I can go without medical/hormone intervention, the better. Hope you feel better soon 💋
