Menopause! Fatigue, crying, aching, nauseous, headaches
Posted , 121 users are following.
Sitting here crying...... again! Feeling awful. Woke up this morning feeling nauseous and aching legs. Went for a run on Monday. Still recovering. Had hoped to go again yesterday but felt awful. Tired all the time. Anxious about everything. Putting on weight but can't stop eating. Had various tests - all ok, including colonoscopy and mammogram. Worried myself silly in the run up to Christmas ..... Virtually read myself the last rights. Have no confidence. Awful temper. Nagging....... Sick of hearing myself rant on to my 12 year old son. What will help. I've read about B6, is B-50 worth a try (Holland and Barrett)?

Hi everyone after googling my symptoms I came across this forum and thought I'd share my story. My nightmare started as I was approaching 40 only to be told it was depression, stress etc. After a few yr of antidepressants and nagging my gp I was at last diagnosed as peri menopause. Hrt patches made my bleeding worse so stopped them and after not having a period since 2012 decided to try them again but swollen ankles and high bp soon put that hope to bed. I am now 51 and feel my symptoms are worse now than ever but after reading your comments feel relieved that I am not alone. I have good days that last so long then bad days when I experience almost every possible symptom there is. My once happy go lucky nature seems to have got up and gone and it's driving me insane. I am narky with my partner and even worse my lovely 4yr old granddaughter. I started taking black cohosh a couple of month back and haven't all symptoms or had much night sweats since. I stupidly ran out of them 3 days ago and last night was sweating buckets whilst feel so weepy today. Iv now stocked back up with them so hoping it really is then working and not just coincidence. Thank you for your posts everyone please tell me these symptoms will eventually end?

Reading all this has made me feel like I'm not insane!! I ask the girls I work with all the time "do you ever ache?" And they all just shrug their shoulders and say nahhh not really and I feel silly then. I can't even describe it somedays. I just sit there thinking this can not be normal, who feels like this!?
I'm 45 one irregular period this year, other than that I have endo and adeno. I have always been yotally hormone sensitive and have never been on the pill. Dr says early peri men but who knows. I just know that if Nurofen didn't exist I'd be buggered.

Hello Ladies
I've read many of these posts and have been laughing hard at some of these discriptions 😂😂
Humour is fabulous!😜
Yes I have sore hip, feel tired, up and down! Think I just missed a period, got all the symptoms but no period!
At work I feel like telling people to shut the f***k up!!! Lol
Plus I have had really depressed feelings & feel like the things I used to do to cheer up just aren't working! I think I'm just beginning - hope this doesn't last too long!
Thanks for your stories one two three... scream for joy we are alive!!!!!!!

Hi everyone ,
i am am really suffering . Up untill a few weeks ago I was studying and put all the sytpoms experienced down to that . I feel awlful .... So sad I can't find any joy in anything , I have a headache all the time don't sleep and cry at the drop of a hat . I had some bloods down in March which showed I was peri menopausal but this wasn't shared with me . Went back to GP last week as feeling desperate and have repeated my bloods . Was sent home from work on Thursday as I was having palpitations and crying uncontrollable . I just don't know what to do with myself . Am still on the mini pill so not sure what's going on with my periods . Heading back to GP this week ... I am not sure if I need HRT or anti depressants . Please someone tell me this can get better with help ?

Hi Sara
i'm so sorry you feel this bad, but from a person that went through every crazy symptom, constant ER visits,
and still going through after 8 years...it gets a bit better!!!
just eat healthy, cut caffeine, alcohol and sugar and just a half hour walk will take the anxiety away!!
i still get palpitations from time to time but not as often as before..i use to be up all night couldn't sleep, that got better i sleep an average of 7 hours now!
just take care of yourself avoid stress and you will feel better!!!
xxxxxx

Hang in there. I am still in the throws of all this madness too. Maria is right about the exercise. It's hard to get motivated to do it.
Finding a project or hobby to take your mind off of it has helped me. I started a painting project in my house because it needed to be done. I was amazed at how much the boring task of painting walls and doors helped my mind, not to mention it was exercise.
Also read the book called "The Mad Women in the Volvo" Funniest book I have ever read about this transition. Have re-read parts of it when I thought I was losing my mind.

Hi there
And praise the lord for me stumbling upon this conversation .
I’m not mad😫😫😫
This is happening and it’s normal .
I’m 43 and after Endo and Ando had a hysterectomy.
Around the same time had a break down after a bereavement,
So being on antidepressants was a bonus....head start if you like😐
Gained weight which the doctors are adamant that hysto doesn’t do😏
Tired , sleepy, knee pain, hate the world, can’t stand the thought of being intimate , breast pain, dry down stairs.....
But guys IM ALIVE right! Have a roof over my head, Food in the fridge
And my hubby and kids.
No life threatening illnesses.....
And this is one more thing that we women share universally and a testament to how brave and how strong and how patient we are!!!!
We are amazing and we are beautiful and we are kind and loving and our bodies and what they can do and endure is amazing.
Every single one of you my sisters going through this “experience “ ... we may not be able to see each other but we have a bond , a invisible bond that no one can break!
Here’s to all my Sisters, I think of you everyday and send love and peace your way...#GirlPower😘

I identify with every symptom on this thread pretty much, except the nausea. I just turned 50, and this all started 6 years ago with migraines and vertigo. I've also had low level depression where I have a hard time making decisions, disinterest in fun activities, and having a lot of anger. Now, I'd say my biggest symptoms are muscle/joint pain, feeling like I have the flu, major brain fog, and wicked insomnia. I also get hot flashes, but not a crazy amount. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my early 20s. It got better and was pretty minor for years, until recently. Many on here talk abt bad neck, shoulder, and upper back pain. That is very common with fibro. It's also very common to have it show up in the perimenopause time. Things that have helped me are: improving sleep and sleep quality (I have to sleep separate from husband as it seems he wakes me several times!)- sleep seems to be the most important factor for me; give up caffeine/ alcohol; drink more water; make sure vit d levels are good; exercise gently (walking, yoga), and breaking free of sugar. These really help, but I still have to take Advil when it gets bad in winter. I also mostly follow the migraine diet. I've tried eliminating certain foods to see if it helps with the aching. Milk and gluten seem to offend me the most, but I have not cut them out completely. There are meds for fibromyalgia that can be tried. And some women get help from HRT. Never did I imagine I would feel 90yrs old at 50, and have to give up so many foods/drinks to avoid migraines. I used to be fit, but have gained a lot of weight.
